Waking up in a room that very obviously wasn't his own bedroom or living room or even the break room was a bit disorienting. It was mostly dark, with only a dim light emitting from the glass window of the door, painting large shadows on the wall. They reminded Tommy of Blood God's creatures and for a moment he thought he'd soon get jumped by them. Then he remembers the room he was in and definitely did not feel disappointed at the fact that the shadow puppies would not be able to go in there.
He sat up and stretched, groaning when his joints popped and then rubbed the weird sleep crust from his eyes. Then, after stifling a yawn and becoming painfully aware of how dry his throat felt, he checked his hands again.
Well, it looks like everything was real. He made it another day and got some sleep. Man, what he'd give to see Dream's face right now. The bastard must be fuming considering he had just been robbed of another perfect opportunity to end Tommy's life.
The carpet felt nice under his feet, quite a contrast to the usual cold floor that would greet him after taking a quick nap in his own bedroom or the break room at the museum. It was exceptionally soft and if it wasn't for the fact that the bed was definitely softer, he probably would've curled up on the carpet. Maybe he could convince the villains to let them take the carpet with him once they let him go.
If they let him go. Which they would. Probably. Surely.
Tommy furrowed his brows at the thought. Would they let him go? Send him out and about after whatever it was that they wanted to discuss with him?
If they do, everything would go back to normal. The unpleasant normal where he had to stay up for an ungodly amount of time again and live on nothing but spite and caffeinated liquids.
He ignored that thought for now, instead getting to his feet and shuffling over to the door. Siren said they hadn't changed the code to the door, which was ridiculous in a way considering they completely relied on the word boob to keep their prisoners locked up.
The villain had not lied, the door clicked open upon typing in the code and he was greeted with a dimly illuminated hallway. There was no clock anywhere in sight so he had no way of telling the time. He couldn't tell how long he'd slept based on how tired he felt, Tommy was always tired after all. Barely sleeping for years does that to a human being. If he had to guess it was probably about ten hours, maybe twelve but that was quite a stretch. His body had gotten used to the minimal amount of sleep, it probably wouldn't force him to rest for much longer.
Tommy walked down the hallway, remembering that Siren had said something about taking the left and then...some door. Yes, he forgot which door exactly but that probably wouldn't be much of an issue.
Or maybe it would, considering there were doors on both sides, six in total, completely unlabeled of course.
He pursed his lips and then swallowed, grimacing at the way his throat ached at the gesture. Maybe he should find something to drink first instead of finding the villains, did they have something like a kitchen in the base?
Yes, they could wait.
Opening the first door to his right revealed a dark room and Tommy had to squint to be able to see anything. He blindly felt around the wall for a light switch, blinking rapidly when he finally found one and turned it on.
So this definitely wasn't some kind of kitchen like he had hoped it would be.
In front of him was quite an extraordinary-looking room. A large round table sat in the middle made out of an interesting kind of blue wood and what looked to be terracotta but not quiet. It had a slight shimmer to it and some parts were see-through, almost like glass which wouldn't make sense considering it looked rather sturdy. There was also some kind of muster painted on it which almost looked like a kind of eye, perhaps a cat eye?
