Chapter 6

Rey was sitting in science, the teacher drawling on about the different elements (aka stuff she already knew all about because of her quirk) when her phone buzzed.

Bakugou you idiot, don't give out your number to people then forget you did it

What's Eraserhead's quirk?

Rey felt excited show on her face, no longer bored from the class. She quickly changed the name on the unknown number before discreetly messaging back, careful to not get caught with her phone during class.

Rey Soto
He can erase anyone's quirk with his eyes, and it remains erased as long as he is looking at them and he doesn't blink. You can tell when his quirk is activated by the fact his eyes glow red. He can only erase one person's quirk at a time, so because of that he wears his goggles so if he fights multiple people at once, they don't know who's quirk is being erased at the time. Because he is essentially just turning the fight quirkless, he has his capture scarf that he can use to immobilise any enemies. His quirk causes him dry eye, the severity dependent on how much he uses it.

Rey knew she was info dumping, but to be fair, he asked.

Rey waited for anything else, but that seemed to be the end of the conversation. Bored again, Rey placed her head on her folded over arms down on her desk, and sighed. Her brief reprieve was broken by her science teacher calling out, "Soto-san, is ruthenium a metal, a non metal, or a metalloid?"

"A metal," Rey answered boredly, not even looking down at her textbook which was still closed on her desk, acting as a pillow of sorts. She saw Tesaki-kun looked over at her in surprise before nodding in understanding, obviously coming to the conclusion that she knew it because of her quirk.

The teacher just continued with the class, happy with her answer, and by the time lunch came around, there were still no new messages from Bakugou on Rey's phone.

"Why you keep on looking at your phone?" Nagai asked with a mouthful of rice this time. It was becoming a common occurrence that he would start conversations mid bite, because he just couldn't wait to ask whatever he wanted to, for whatever reason Rey didn't know.

"Just a newish friend text me earlier, and ended the conversation weirdly," Rey dismissed.

"What friend?" If Rey didn't know any better, she would say Tesaki-kun sounded jealous.

"Remember that guy I told you is a bit of a dick, like your old friend?" Nagai nodded. "Well he's my neighbour and we run together every morning." Nagai hummed in interest. "Not sure if we're actually friends," Rey continued, hand settling on her chin, a look of thought washing over her face. "He calls me rude names and doesn't act very friendly, but after I gave him my number this morning, he contacted me to ask me something just last period."

"You gave him your number?" Tesaki-kun's jaw dropped.

Rey shot him a look of disgust at the half-chewed food he was now showing her. "Yeah, why?"

Tesaki-kun swallowed the rice in his mouth and smirked. "Didn't know you had moves Soto-chan."

"I-" Rey froze. "What?"

"Oh come on. You've known him for how long? And you gave him your number. If that isn't smooth I don't know what is," Nagai laughed at her shocked face.

Rey, not having any experience in romance, let alone friend making, was frozen in shock and fear. "No, of course I didn't know that!" she raised her voice. The people around them turned and looked at them weirdly. After a bit their gazes moved on.
