Rey remembers the first home she moved out of. It was in a small neighbourhood, and she had a best friend there, but all she remembered of him was that the day she left, he gifted her a little lipgloss container in the shape of a wrapped up present (his mum had clearly picked it out for him). She remembers a vague sense of sadness and loss at leaving that house, but as it happened again and again from one place to the next, Rey eventually learnt to not get too attached to any place.

This is probably why she was totally unbothered when her parents announced that they were moving to a place in the Shizuoka prefecture called musutafu. Rey remained optimistic, despite the fact that she had just gotten acceptance letters from more than two schools that had what looked like fairly decent hero courses in their town of komono in the city of Nagoya. Because the drive would be over 2 and a half hours to get to either of those schools from her new house, Rey quickly searched up all of the schools in the musutafu region. When the first school came up, Rey realised where she recognised the name of the place from. UA was in musutafu. The spark that had lit inside of her heart was quickly smothered by the blanket of realisation that there was no way she would be able to get into that school with the entrance exam having taken place over a week ago.

Rey resigned herself to her fate of not going to UA ("and," she reminded herself, "it's not like you would have gotten in anyway with low the acceptance rate is.") searching for another hour, she found a grand total of one school that let people into the hero course without an entrance exam. It was the only public school to have a hero course, and deciding not to look any further to not get any more disappointed, Rey sent the information of the school in an email to both of her parents. She figured her schooling was probably not the most immediate thing on their minds, with the moving vans coming the very next day, so she figured that by emailing it, they could chose to see it when they had a chance.

Speaking of which, she had a lot more packing to get through.

...

The next day came quickly, and before Rey knew it 3 very muscular looking men were zipping around her house her and her family had been at for the past 6 months, and within 2 hours all of their bulky belongings were Tetrised into the ridiculously large truck that would drive everything to their next house.

During the drive Rey stared out the window, music playing in her ears to drown out the boring conversation of her parents talking about insurance at the new place. She was feeling slightly frustrated, because the whole moving had disrupted her usual routine of going for a run in the morning, but she figured she could try to fit one in once they had unpacked some stuff, before having dinner.

There wasn't much stuff for Rey to unpack after all, as over the years of moving she had learned that the less stuff she collected or got, the easier these moves were. If she only had about 5 boxes to unpack, she could sooner get towards settling in with an adapted routine that suited the new place she stayed. Once her boxes were unpacked (thankfully the muscular men installed all of the furniture like her bed, because she really wasn't in the mood for weight training) she threw on her running singlet and her running shorts, laced up her shoes tightly and set off to find a path for her to regularly run. Her parents were doing the whole "introducing themselves to the neighbours", so she didn't have to worry about asking them to leave, simply leaving a short note for them if they got back before her.

As she started at a medium-paced jog, Rey felt all the tension that had come with the stress of moving slowly ebb away from her tense muscles like honey falling off a spoon. Running without caring where she was going was one of her favourite things to do. Sure, it was nice to know where she was going, but at times like these it was peaceful to just let her legs do the thinking, disconnecting her brain for a short while. She had no idea how far she had run, but when she checked her fitness watch, she realised it was nearly dinner time and quickly opened up the map app to plug in her new address and get back as quickly as possible. Her muscles ached a bit, and so she curiously checked to see just how far she had run. It was a shock to see that she had run well over 15km, but also not so much so at the same time with how her body was hurting.

When Rey made it back, she quickly hopped in the shower, turning the water to cool to stop the sweat her body was rapidly creating. When she got out she quickly got into some pajamas and joined her parents for dinner. She half-heartedly listened as they told her all about their neighbours the smiths, an old couple, and the Bakugous, fashion designers with a son with a "bad attitude", which most likely meant he acted just like any other grumpy teenager, seeing as it was her parents saying this.

Once Rey was excused from the table, she wasted no time falling right into bed and drifted to sleep quickly after the long day she had had.
