"Wait... What? James was just at the hospital, not even an hour ago. He, he said she seemed better this is not fair" I screamed tears streaming down my face as I ran out the front door across the grass to the Price's porch, I didn't think James would be home but when I knocked he answered the door.

"Lucy please don't, don't cry, I'm fine"

I felt as if he has told me that before, because he has.

"How can you be fine your mom is dead!”? I screamed at him. He winced and I saw his eyes get misty.

"James I'm so sorry that did not come out right"

"Lucy pleases. don’t. cry. I actually saw this coming and I got my crying out before, because I did not want you to see me like that, crying and all" he said with such a sad voice it only made me cry harder.

"Lucy come here"

I stepped into his arms and he pulled me inside his house.

"you ok now?" he asked me his eyes held nothing but concern and unsheaded tears.

"yeah but the question is are you?"

"that easy to anwser no, no I’m not ok, but I will be eventually, can you stay here tonight?"

"yeah I'll stay, I get that you don't want to be alone right now"

"yeah I don't. thanks for staying, can I show you something?"

"sure what?"

"one second go sit on the Couch and close you're eyes, Kay?"

"got it"

He came back about two minutes later.

"ok when I tell you open you're eyes, Kay"

"yep"

"three, two, one..."

I felt the couch sink down a little as he sat down.

"open" I did as he said and he face was inches from mine, he was also making a goofy face at me with eyes wide open, when I saw how close he was my eyes widened as he leaned away laughing as he did. I realized he had a guitar in his lap, I knew he played and I've seen him play but it almost been two months since he last played.

"what's the guitar for?"

"well I'm going to play it duh" he said making a really weird face as he said duh.

"I got that mister with the smarty-pants comments"

"well I was actually going to sing and play you a song, you're favorite song actually" he said looking down at the guitar plucking one of the strings.

"really?"

So this means his playing sand in your shoes by this providence.

"yes really" he said sticking his tongue out, and again with the smarty-pants comments.

Well I couldn't stand to be in that place

I was just about to leave, when I saw your face

You were laughing at me with your beautiful mouth

You said, 'You're looking miserable, do you want to get out?'

When you're only 18

And you got nothing to lose

And you’re living a dream

With the sand in your shoes

You said falling in love is easy

It's easy to do.

We fell in love with the windows rolled down

Chasing the sunset through another empty town

Your hair was a mess when you would dance on the coast

Your silhouette, like some heavenly ghost.

When you're only 18

And you got nothing to lose

And you’re living a dream

With the sand in your shoes

You said falling in love is easy

It's easy to do.

Summer skies and warm colored sunsets

And a sunrise sneaking through my blinds

My demise, I just can't help but feel so lost.

Falling in love is easy to do

With the wind in your hair and the sand in your shoes

And though it may hurt to have your heart broken in two

That didn't stop me from falling for you.

When you're only 18

And you got nothing to lose

And you’re living a dream

With the sand in your shoes

You said falling in love is easy

It's easy to do.

When you're dancing on the beach where the water meets your feet

And a cool ocean breeze is fighting the heat

You said falling in love is easy

It's easy to do

It's easy to do

It’s easy to do…

Oh I'm falling for you.

I had tears in my eyes when he was done singing I now that I must sound like a baby but his voice was amazing
