The bell rang it always rings I thought to myself, I couldn't comprehend why I was so surprised or why I should have been.
That's when it all came to me in a blur it was because I wasn't paying attention to what was going on for the whole day the only thing I can remember is getting to school and that first class that I have with him the first of the five classes. Now I know why I didn't remember he wasn't there which has not happened since grade school not one day missed since then.
Seven days later...
Again for the fifth time today I got his answering machine. "Hey this is James sorry to miss your call I'll get back to you as soon as possible" I have heard that non-stop for a week I knew I could just go over there because he was home. Lights would turned on and off throughout the day and I could see him go in and out of the garage working on his car like always, but I could not bring my self to walk out of the house across the patch of grass separating our houses. "I will go tomorrow" I told my self confidently it was well easer said then done I told my self every day I would go see him, and I wanted so bad that today would be different.
I had to push my self just to get out the front door, I walked across the grass and stood outside his garage, picked up a rock a through not even seeing where it landed he took out his headphones and smiled. I missed that smile more then I thought I did to be honest, but that smile just as fast as it appeared, vanished after a split second and just when I thought everything would be fine, before I could say anything he beat me to it
"Hello Lucy"
He sounded almost annoyed.
"James. You ok" it was a stupid question but I ask anyway.
"I'm fine Lucy just tired with all the calls I getting from you."
"'Kay I'm confused you got my calls but you couldn't have answered one, even just to tell me to stop, since I'm bugging you I'll just go. Sorry Jamie"
"Don't call me that Lucy!"
"Sorry 'James' "
