Third P.O.V
"Did he just say school?" Vanitas pondered. The idea of going to school didn't bother him much, as he had never experienced it before, but he couldn't shake the feeling that it was unnecessary. He had heard bits and pieces about school, and to him, it seemed like a mundane and pointless obligation. Vanitas saw the learning process as a means to an end, rather than an opportunity for personal growth. He couldn't help but think it would restrict his freedom.
However, a small part of him wondered if it might be different from what he had heard. After all, he was not the type to blindly believe what others said without proof. Besides, he didn't really have a choice in the matter. If he refused to go, Reiji would most likely drag him out forcefully. And that was something he definitely didn't fancy.
"Ah~ I guess I don't have a choice. Fine, let's just rest for a while until Specs-kun calls me," Vanitas muttered to himself as he made his way to the bed. He plopped down and covered himself with the blanket. 'At least the bed is comfortable,' he thought.
Vanitas was the kind of person who wouldn't fall asleep in the presence of someone he didn't trust. But at the moment, he was alone in his room, so he let his guard down. Just as he was about to close his eyes and drift off, he felt a presence behind him. 'Of course, there's no hope,' he sighed inwardly.
That presence then climbed into his bed, lay down beside him, and even had the audacity to wrap an arm around Vanitas! Vanitas, pretending to be asleep but fully conscious, attempted to shift slightly to catch a glimpse of who it was. However, the tight grip prevented him from doing so. Undeterred, he tried to move his head, but that proved to be equally fruitless.
"For goodness' sake, stop squirming so much," grumbled a familiar voice. It was Shu, the culprit.
Vanitas had reached the end of his patience and promptly kicked Shu out of the bed, sending him sprawling to the floor.
"What was that for?" Shu exclaimed, his frustration evident in his voice.
"Because you were single-handedly ruining my beauty sleep! Don't you have your own room or something? Go there and let me rest," Vanitas retorted, throwing himself dramatically onto his bed, but not without keeping his guard up.
Shu let out an exasperated groan and promptly teleported right beside Vanitas again. Vanitas desperately wanted to shout, but his mouth was swiftly covered by Shu's hand. He attempted to wriggle free, only to realize he was completely immobilized. 'I don't think I'm that weak...am I? No way! He's a vampire, he's got superhuman strength!'
"Stop squirming and just sleep. I'm too exhausted right now," Shu muttered, clearly exasperated.
Vanitas tossed and turned in bed, unable to find a comfortable position. He grumbled to himself, secretly annoyed (and maybe just a tad flustered) that he was wrapped up in Shu's arms. Of course, he would never admit it out loud. He needed to relax somehow, at least enough to ensure he wouldn't be a total zombie tomorrow.
Deciding sleep was futile, Vanitas resigned himself to a restless night. But just as he settled into his frustration, the world around him plunged into darkness. He blinked in surprise, finding himself transported to a mysterious void. It was as black as a moonless night, leaving him both on edge and oddly intrigued.
"Well, well, well," Vanitas muttered to himself, his curiosity piqued. "Looks like I stumbled upon a brand new haunt. Quite the unconventional vacation spot, I must say."
