12. Lan Wangji

'It honestly hurts. It hurts when you are flogged for a hundred times because of your so called crime. But was it really a crime. He's my mate. And he's a human. How am I supposed to stay away from him especially when he's my mate. Is it because of me that he's born as a human? Why everything about me is so complex?... But more than everything, more than the pain of getting beated , more than being punished to be put in a dark dungeon, more than every other punishments what hurts the most is what he said.'

***Flashback***

"We have rules for everything. Just because you are the future Alpha I can't let you break it. We are not supposed to have any relation with a human. So Wang Yibo is not allowed to have any relation with that human. This is the final judgement of Gusu. The higher officials has stated that for the efficient rule of law of Gusu ,Wang Yibo is asked to reject his human mate. For the betterment of the whole clan, we should ensure that Wang Yibo is not crossing the river and maintains no relation with that human."

'How can they do such a thing? How can I reject him? He's mine. My life and my world. How can I live without him? He's my mate. Rejecting means we both dying. How can they...? He's a part of me. Even though the way we met is different he's still my mate. Even though I hurt him I want him to accept me and forgive me. Not just because of being my mate but because he is the first person that made me fall in love with. Love at first sight. Even if I have to walk through the thorny path, or if I have to disobey the higher officials or to break the legendary rules of Gusu I'd still do it for him. That much my heart earns for you my love. Please stay strong love. I'll come to you no matter what...'  Tears welled up in Yibo's eyes and it started to flow down ...

Even though he is the future Alpha, they didn't nursed his wounds because of his 'heinous' crime. It's bleeding and there is higher chance of getting infected. Still the pain of the verdict took a toll on Yibo that he didn't shifted to his wolf form nor he tried to heal himself. He was simply broken. Since childhood he maintained a standard that he thought crying is for weak people. So he wasn't able to cry but only tears shown his pain. Yibo wasn't aware that his wolf form is hurting because of the so called judgement but also because of the wounds. He didn't care. 'If I have to reject him then let me die at here'. He thought

Time pass by... It's been hours. Yibo has been sitting in a corner silently with tears. The sound of someone opening the door too was unnoticed by Yibo. Surprisingly it was his brother Xichen. He secretly came to his brother in the middle of the night with Xingchen. He was sure that Yibo wouldn't try to heal and he must be worried about his love.

"Yibo..." He called.

"Yibo.." He called again.

.......

"Lan Wangji..." This time instead of calling the human form Wang Yibo, he called the wolf Lan Wangji.

(KEEP IN MIND THAT LAN WANGJI IS YIBO'S WOLF'S NAME)

A squeal was heard. Wang Yibo looked at his brother. For the first time his brother saw him crying. For the first time... For his mate.. This made the brother too emotional. He was looking for words and actions to support the younger.

"Yibo, I know it hurts. At the same time you must keep in mind that Wangji is hurting more. The existence of Wangji is necessary for the life of you. And the existence of your mate is necessary for you both. So I'll never ask you to reject your mate. If the moon goddess made your mate a human then it definitely means a tougher test to make you stronger. As it was clear that Wangji can be controlled only by this human boy. Then that's definite that rejecting is not the option. There will be a solution. No matter what you must find him as soon as possible especially if you knotted him. I don't know how it works with humans. As far as I know human males don't get pregnant. But since he's different in a sense that he's the mate of you- a true blood Alpha- a wolf there's a possibility. If it happens he must not be alone. There's a higher chance for him to panic. Also your life depends on him. You need to find him to be the next leader."

The word 'knot' brought a red colour to the ears of the depressed boy. The images of that day came to his mind. The words further left his brother's mouth brought different expressions on Yibo's face.

'Just like I need you, you also need me, especially if you get pregnant'. The thought itself made him look at his brother. Yes everything he said is absolutely correct. 'I must find him soon. I can't reject you.'

"To find him at first you must get well. For that you should  let Xingchen to take care of you."

"Mnn..". That's the only sound they  heard. And he looked approvingly at Dr Xingchen.

Xingchen came forward with a smile on his face. He tried to open his long cloth and this made Yibo flinch and the action made both the other men to chuckle. It simply meant don't touch me it's only for my love.

"I have no intention of touching you in any other way" .. said Xingchen and he further proceeded what he was doing . After applying herbal medicine he sit back. Yibo's mind was calm as he got to know what he should do. Now the only problem remains is finding the beautiful boy. 'That's not at all a problem when I'm a true blood and a wolf ' he thought.

"Eat the food over there. Make yourself healthy because you need to leave soon when you heal. I'll secretly ask few people to go with you. We will find him no matter what. After all isn't he our Wang Yibo's one and only, and our future Luna". He said teasingly . It  made Yibo blush and Lan Wangji excited.

Lan Wangji was restless and excited with the thought of meeting his mate. The mere thought of standing next to him, sniffing him, making love with him, having kids, growing old, never ending pleasurable nights, and keeping the beauty for himself alone made him happy that he want to rush out of the dungeon and run and cross the river and find him and bring him back tonight itself .

Little did he know that the real world beyond the river is bigger than he can imagine and it is really going to be a hell of a journey.
