Shanelle POV

"Good morning, sleepyhead!" Shay chirped, her eyes sparkling with love and concern.

"Hey, Shanelle," Jason greeted me warmly, his voice filled with genuine care.

"Hope you're feeling better today."

I nodded, appreciating their support.

"Thanks, you guys. I'm doing much better, and the doctors said I'm getting discharged tomorrow. No need to worry too much."

As if on cue, Beatrice and Kayleen arrived, their laughter echoing down the corridor. They burst into the room, their vibrant energy bringing an immediate lift to my spirits.

"Look who's here! Our very own hospital celebrity!" Beatrice exclaimed, her eyes wide with excitement.

"We couldn't resist coming to see you, Shanelle. We've been worried sick." Kayleen added

I grinned, attempting to reassure them.

"Honestly, guys, I'm going to be fine. The doctors are taking good care of me, and I'll be out of here before you know it. No need to stress."

Shay chimed in, her tone gentle but firm.

"And when you do get out, take it easy, please. Don't rush back to work immediately. You need to rest at home and recover fully."

I rolled my eyes playfully.

"Oh, come on, Shay. You know I can't sit still for long so stop worrying. Anyway, don't you have an engagement party to plan?"

A secret glance passed between Shay and Jason, and I couldn't help but feel a surge of curiosity.

"Having an engagement party is the least of our concerns right now.  We're both swamped with work, and Jason and I have decided to have the celebration when we feel like it. We don't want to rush things."

Her words sank in, and a smile tugged at the corners of my lips. I was genuinely happy for Shay, finally finding the happiness and freedom she deserved. It was heart-warming to witness her embark on this new chapter in her life.

Just when the conversation was settling into a comfortable lull, Kayleen piped up, her mischievous grin evident.

"Hey, Jason, do you have a brother?"

Caught off guard, Jason chuckled softly. "Unfortunately, no. It's just me."

Without missing a beat, Kayleen pressed further.

"Well, do you have any hot friends, then? Like you?"

I rolled my eyes, playfully intervening.

"Kayleen, no. Even if Jason had hot friends, they're most likely not single. Right, Jason?"

Jason looked at me with a smirk before nodding in agreement.

"Yes, definitely not single."

Kayleen groaned, feigning disappointment. "Well, that's boring."

"Hey, we can't have it all," Beatrice chimed in, her voice light-hearted.

"At least we have each other, right?"

I nodded in agreement, grateful for the unwavering support of my friends and the love of my sister. At that moment, surrounded by laughter and shared stories, I couldn't help but feel a sense of hope and optimism.

As the conversation flowed, the door suddenly swung open, and in walked Vincent, looking incredibly handsome in his more casual attire. He wore a black hoodie, jeans, and a grey beanie that accentuated his rugged charm. My heart skipped a beat as our eyes met, and a smile tugged at the corners of my lips.
