In a studio that looked worn down by time, there resided workers who either looked listless, or were sleeping. There were two individuals playing chess at the side, looking bored but also focused on their match.

"I'm completely losing here, but I won't give up!" The girl exclaimed with determination in her eyes, as her opponent moves his Queen to check her King. The girl is forced to move her King to safety.

"I wonder where the author has gone?" The boy said with a face that couldn't be read. He could see that his win in this match was imminent, it was far too easy, but the boy didn't want to say it.

...

...

The girl puts her hand on her chin, seemingly mulling over an answer. The boy doesn't know if she's thinking on how to get out of the oncoming loss, or if she was thinking of an answer to his question. The boy moved his Bishop to e3, and looked back at his opponent. The girl was now wearing a face that boy couldn't really describe.

...

...

Realizing that she had lost, the girl offered her arm as a sign of resignation. She had surrendered. The boy described with no emotion on his face.

"Well, you're too good at this, Kiyotaka-kun." The girl, said with an awkward smile. "You've clearly got talent with chess."

"Well, it's more of a skill that's been sharpened more than I would have wanted, Kotori. You're pretty good, too."

"Aw, really? Well, it's not enough to beat you, though."

The two start to walk away from the board, not really knowing what to do next, as the "Author" hasn't really come back for what's been a year.

"About your question earlier, I honestly don't know where that woman went. I just wish she'd come back. Although, I don't know who'd still read the story after no updates for almost a year." The girl said with an unreadable expression.

"Maybe there are some who're still waiting for an update?" The boy answered, a slightly hopeful tone in his voice.

"I  hope so. I mean, look at this place, it's full with cobwebs, and all the staff don't have anything to do. All the other actors are out exploring, you rarely see anyone else here aside from Hiyori, and Horikita-san!" The boy had to take a look around him and ensure that it was true. Well, he already knew that is true, but he just had to take a look.

"I swear, whatever excuse she has, it's not gonna convince me!" As the girl said this, the doors to the studio slammed open.

"I am back, people!!" A white haired girl exclaimed loudly, with a slightly nervous but smiling face.

Without a second passing, she was punched in the face by a fist that couldn't be seen by any normal eye.

"So... You're back... What excuse do you have for yourself?" Kotori said as she slowly approaches the white haired girl whose face looked like she was about to cry.

"Ah, Uh... My dog... Ate my homework...?" The girl- what? What? What kind of- You know what, she got beat up after giving such a stupid answer, and deservingly so.

Seriously, what kind of...

Anyway...

The author was being taken care of by Hiyori, who was caressing her as she cried.

"Kotori-san, you didn't have to beat her up that much... It's true that the author is at fault for being gone for so long, but she didn't have to get beat up like that."

"She deserved it. Trust me." Ayanokouji silently nodded.

"You're so cruel, Kotori... How could you do this to your own mother...?" The author boldly said while faking her sobs. Kotori didn't respond. She felt like just ignoring the existence that is her "Mother" right then and there.

"But anyway..." The girl got up with a smile on her face. "I'm back! And naturally, we're back to business!!"

...

...

"Hm? Where is everyone?"

"If you're talking about the actors, they're out there exploring around." Horikita Suzune suddenly appears looking like nothing bothers her.

"Eh? But how are we supposed to continue this story without them? We left at such a good part, too!"

"Don't forget that it's your fault that everyone got bored and decided to explore around, you're lucky the staff are still here, or you'd have more problems on your hands." Kotori said.

The author awkwardly laughed.

"I'll try by contacting them, and letting them know that you've returned." Horikita assured.

"Thanks, Horikita! You're always so helpful! This is why you're the true main heroine!" Ayanokouji gave the author a questioning look, but decided to not speak upon his thoughts.

"Looks like we're back in business?" Kotori says as she approaches Ayanokouji.

"Hopefully so."

"I've gotta show the staff and the other actors the apology video I made her film. Wanna come with?" Kotori says with a cheeky smile on her face.

"Sure."

The video starts playing and there sat a girl with white hair. Her face looked to be bruised from punches, her hair fizzled.

"Uh, I'm the author, and I apologize for not updating for almost a year... My dog and homework had nothing to do with it, and it's also not really an excuse... To the staff, I'm terribly sorry. To the actors, I'm also sorry, but I hope you enjoyed your vacation-" The girl gets kicked and her groan could be heard.

"Uh... To the readers, I'm terribly sorry you had to wait almost a year for an update, and the update doesn't even concern the story... Instead, it's about a BTS that you probably don't care about... I'm really sorry..." The girl is again kicked and the video fades to black.

Only a girl's groans and howls of pain could be heard as the actors of this crappy fanfic sit there and listen.

Some are elated.

Some are disturbed.

Some are amused.

Some just don't care.

While one, is used to the groans of the weak. He's heard it all before. Back at that place. He doesn't think much of it.

The weak are beaten and killed.

The strong remain at the top and dominate.

To be at the top and win, it doesn't matter what method are used, as long as it is achieved.

That's how just he works.
