I'd been seeing Jesse for a month now, we'd gone no further than heated make-outs even though I know both of us were now ready to take things further we hadn't, fuck I was ready as soon as I saw him but, I wanted him to be sure he was doin the right thing. He'd come over to the ranch any time he could get, but it was getting harder to stop the inevitable and, go unnoticed. I had sat down with my siblings the weekend before and told them about me being gay, Cass already knew, Clay said it made no difference at all, he kinda thought so when he saw me and Jesse comin out of the barn touchin each other...He also told me that Jesse's younger brother Luke also knew, this kinda bothered me a bit for Jesse's safety, it wouldn't take long before it got back to the one person we were holdin off tellin, the preacher but, we both knew it was something we had to do sooner, rather than later.

We'd had weather warnin's for the week ahead, so I'd been real busy workin on the ranch long hours, I'd spoken with Jesse every day but we'd not seen each other in a week, and it was killin me! All the fences and pens were secured, the bales undercover and, all the cattle were on lower ground, all that was left was for me to shoot to town to stock up on some groceries with the gang. Cass was driving while Clay and Cand sang along to the music just as my phone sprang into action, looking down I grinned at "Blue eyes" 

 "Hey gorgeous" At this my siblings started making kissy noises, making me roll my eyes..

"Hey handsome, what you doin?" He sounded down, and I knew exactly why, I was feelin it too.

"We're on our way to the store to stock up before the bad weather comes, can you get out?" I really wanted to see him but I knew we'd be pushin it with the weather...

"Leave it with me, see you there in 10" And with that the phone went dead!

Jesse

My mom was in her room reading, while father was over at the church checkin everything was secure..She was reading one of her "Books" not the bible! Father always hated seeing her read her books, he said they would corrupt her soul, so banned her from reading them. Little did he know she kept them hidden in one of her draws, she made the most of them when father was out or the house or town on business!

"Mom, do we need anything from the store? I'm gonna nip over real quick and meet up with Col and the gang" Looking at me, she smiled, she'd told me to take Luke but to not hang around too long or if the weather turned then to go with the Slade family to the ranch and wait the weather out, kissing her head, I'm stunned that she's told me to go to the Slade's ranch rather than comin home, I feel a nervous excitement bubblin in the pit of my stomach. Leave my Mom to her reading I knock on my brother's door.

"Luke im gonna go over to the store, do you wanna jump in with me, give Mom some peace before father returns?" I have to laugh at Luke's face, last week he'd had his first beating and since then despised father as much as myself, I'm pretty sure if Mom was honest with herself she no longer loved him but, it was harder for her bein the preachers wife!

"Sure, anything to get out of this hell hole" Jumpin off his bed he slipped on his boots, we raced down to the car and set off, as we were driving I could see something was bothering my younger brother, we'd always been close so it bothered me to see...

"Everything OK Lukey?" Laughin he looked over to me..

"What have I said about callin me that Jess!" I lean over to rub his hair which earns me a slap..

"You can tell me anything you know?"...

"I know Jess"

"Good"

"No, I mean I know Jesse, about you and Colby" Well shit! I'm trying to drive while lookin at my brother to see his reaction, he didn't look repulsed or surprised, so that's a start!

"Are you ok with us? I mean me and Colby?"  I wait for his reply not realising just how much it mean to me for him to accept me and my relationship..

"Im cool Jess but, fathers gonna flip his shit!" 

At this we both laugh..."Mom too if she hears words like that comin out of your mouth!"

We pull up at the store and park next to my cowboy's truck, as we climb out the heavens open up and I can hear the thunder rolling across the valley, the sky is dark and lightning flashes. Quickly, we run in the store to see them loadin their trolley onto the counter to pay.

Mrs Bates scolds us for being so stupid and comin out in such weather but it's as if she's not talkin, my eyes are on one person and he's starin at me like he wants to devour me! We walk out the store and go behind his truck, the rain is pouring on us both but as he cups my face in his big rough hands I don't feel a drop. Leaning down his lips smash against mine making me feel all sorts of things...breaking away we both have big grins on our faces.."Fuck I've missed you gorgeous" His cowboy hat drips rain down my face but I don't care, remembering my Moms words I have a plan....

"Do you want 2 house guests for a few days?" He looks confused but his lips are turned up in a small smirk..

"Mom told me if the weather was bad to go to the ranch with you instead of riskin drivin home, do you want 2 extra guests?" I'm suddenly picked up and spun around, making me laugh as he places kisses all around my face.

"I'll take that as a yeah..put me down now cowboy and go help with the groceries and i'll speak with Luke" Standing on my toes I peck his lips feeling excited about the next few days..

As I expected after I explained we'd be spending the next few days at the ranch, Luke and Clay were more than happy over havin time together, with both boys sat in the back of my jeep we set off drivin to the ranch as the weather pelts down around us...

I hope Moms OK? I will try to call her later if the lines aren't down, I don't like the thought of her on her own with father but the weather is too bad now to turn back. Making my mind up, as soon as we get to the ranch I'll call her....
