We stole looks, glances, here and there and the tension between us sizzled. I helped Cass make sandwiches for everyone's lunch while Colby was made to "Play" with Cand in her room. I knew Cass was lookin at me but, when I turned my head so did she, I figure if she's got somethin to say, she ain't the kind to hold back, ha..none of the Slade's were!

"You and Col seem real happy, im glad for you..for the both of you"...And there it was, I carried on adding the fillings and salad, knowing there was more to come...

"You know he's never had a boyfriend, hell..this is the first time I saw him be affectionate with anyone bar us lot!" At this I laugh a little, still not interrupting her.

"He never did tell Ma and Pa..you know about bein gay, they were religious my folks, but they were open-minded, and I know they would have loved him no less. It's been a secret for far too long, I'm glad he found you"...I stop adding the salad to the sandwich I'm working on and turn to look at Cass, she was a petite, female version of Colby, she was beautiful..

"Thank you, for sayin that and also, makin me and Luke welcome. I know you heard me tell Colby I loved him, but I didn't mean to blurt it out like that. I wanted it to be special, because he is to me"...She offers me a kind smile that shows she knows I'm genuine. As we carry on I hear the 2 boys chargin through, both sayin how hungry they were! Once Cand is happy her big brother has given her enough time they come to join us at the table..I laugh at Luke and Clay both sat starin at the food...Once grace was said and everyone said how nice it looked we all tucked in. I loved meal times like this, even though we'd only shared a few together, it was a real family and bondin affair. I look over at Colby who for some reason has sat right in front of me, he has devilment swirlin in his brown eyes and I'm hopin he isn't gonna say something not proper! 

"You gonna help me with the horses later Jesse? Ya know..boyfriend helpin another out?" He is smirking across at me and I can feel a slight blush crawl up my kneck. I have Cand at the side of me and who knows what the fuck or how her little mind works but glancing over to her I can see it tickin!

  "Sure cowboy, why not...it's the least I can do" Trying to play it cool, I continue with my lunch..but..no such luck!

"Ya know it's real dirty in those stables" His words are naughty, and I can feel his eyes daring me to look up...I hear Cass sniggering to the side of Colby, looking up to meet her gaze she just laughs while shruggin her shoulders...Urgggg! After clearin the table I try callin Mom again but, the lines are still down and there's another 2 days of bad weather forecast, I'm really hopin I can speak with her soon, the thought of her alone with "him" leaves a bad feelin in my stomach...As I put the last of the plates away, Colby appears with a long waterproof coat and cowboy hat, handing them me he smirks..

"Put these on gorgeous, we've got stuff to do!"...pullin my boots on, I wrap the big coat around me, it's real big on my smaller frame but it'll do, I place the hat on my head and turn to face Colby who is right behind me, he lowers his head and I can smell the coffee he just downed..

"Your makin me all hard with my hat on baby, you can keep that on later..come on, we have a few jobs to do first!"..

I can see him adjust himself slightly before opening the door to the heavy rain, he takes off sprinting to the stables.. As I try to get my shit together, I brace myself for the heavy rain and go after my cowboy now sportin a massive boner...cheers for that Col!

The stables are just as expected, dark wood and immaculately clean! There's 10 horses, all with their heads stickin out of their stalls, at the end of the large space is a tack room, the smell of horse and leather is oddly comfortin, rows of saddles, boots, whips, ropes and other leather goods are all placed along the wall..To the side, I see Col open a big slidin door that has bales, food and a medicine cabinet behind it..
