Lunch came to an end and the two headed to their respective classes. Kenma kept the bell in his pocket, wondering what she meant by that.
"She sounds like she'll leave," he thought, paying very little attention to the lecture.
"Kozume. Read the next paragraph," his teacher called. It causes him to panic for a bit as he's unsure of what the topic was to begin with.
Meanwhile, in the classroom next door was a whole different scenario. The teacher was late and everyone had their eyes on Kokoe. The few brave ones garnered their courage to approach and speak to her despite the intimidating aura she oozed with.
"Kokoe-chan, are you new to Tokyo? Are you a foreigner?" one of the girls asked. She was fiddling with her fingers, unsure of her own manner of speech.
"Huh?" Kokoe raised a brow. She just had to be hostile to everyone but Kenma.
"I'm, I'm sorry!" the girl exclaimed, jittery.
"Madame, you shouldn't be too hard on them," Kokoe recalled Ryosuke's words earlier that morning.
"If I had to answer, then yes, I'm new to this place. I'm not from Japan," she finally answered.
"Ah, I, I see!" the girl said. Kokoe scared her enough to prevent her from asking further questions.
"Kokoe-chan, if you're not from here, how is your Japanese so good?" another one asked.
"What's with these commoners asking me so much?!" Kokoe kept her thoughts to herself.
*Alright, alright, settle down," the teacher finally arrived.
"We have a new student and I had to check some paperwork," the professor added. "Ah, she's already here."
Eyes were glued back to her.
"Mind introducing yourself?"
A few hours passed and the most awaited school bell finally rung. Kokoe could handle four fighters going against her simultaneously but apparently had difficulty keeping her cool with the amount of questions she received today.
"Where are you from? Have you modeled? Why did you go to Japan? Do you like Tokyo? Do you have a boyfriend? Is it true you're dating Kenma?" those questions filled her day.
A few hours passed and it was finally time to call it a day. Such is true for most, but not for Kenma and Kuroo who had training.
"Ryosuke said I'll either spend my time ata club or just go straight home," she recalled his advise from earlier again.
"He should have explained what a club was," she mumbled and sighed. All she could think of was a weapon. A club.
"Kokoe-chan! Do you want to join our club?" the girl from earlier spoke to her again.
"What club?"
"The culinary club!" she answered with a smile.
"Oh," Kokoe reacted with the most mundane and u interested look. Even her voice was monotonous. If she wanted good food, she had Ryosuke anyway.
"U-uh, well, there are other clubs you can go for, I guess?" the girl chuckled.
"Like?"
"We have sports clubs like... Volleyball and basketball... And kendo... And-" the girl tries to enumerate but Kokoe already had something in mind.
"Kendo? You have Kendo here?" Kokoe confirms.
"Yup! Do you play? You?" the girl was astonished.
"Is that... strange?"
The girl was silent, keeping all hee thoughts to herself. "Her face looks like that and she plays a sport where she covers it entirely, oh the irony!"
"Well?" Kokoe waited for an answer.
"No, of course, it's not strange. I can show you the club. Maybe they can accept you if you try out."
"You can do that? That would be great," Kokoe finally smiled, much to the girl's delight.
The walk to the kendo clubroom was quite long. It was nearer to the gym than to their classroom. Nevertheless, Kokoe was more than eager to test out her skills in this world. As a swordsman in the Moon Tower, she took pride in her abilities.
"Oh? New kid wants to join?" another girl spoke. She seemed to be the captain.
"Yes, I'm the said new kid."
"Hey, rookie, spar with her, will you?" the captain instructed.
"I spar with the rookie and not you?" Kokoe pointed out.
"Newbies are often arrogant, aren't they?" the captain chuckled. She didn't need to take it to heart. The newbies are always all talk, at least that's what she thought.
"Alright, alright, I'll spar with you," the captain finally obliged.
"I have always preferred to challenge the strongest one in the room," Kokoe replied.
"Though in that case, I'd have to fight myself," she murmured.
"She sure is enjoying this, huh," the Kendo club members began to gossip.
"I can't tell if Captain's banter is just playful or straight up a diss," they whispered.
News of the new student challenging the kendo team captain reached almost the whole school instantaneously. It even reached the gym, where the volleyball team practiced.
"Newbies... You mean... You mean Kokoe-san?" Kuroo asked.
"Kokoe... Kendo... That airhead is challenging the damn captain. Is she thinking her powers are still in this world?!" Kenma thought to himself before dashing out of the gym.
"I'll be back, probably," he said before completely disappearing from their sight.
He ran as swiftly as he could. He had no plans on stopping her, fully knowing she will never back out from a fight. But at the very least, he wanted to see her.
"Put on the gear, you don't want to scar your pretty face," the captain said as he entered the room. A crowd was already forming.
"Don't worry, you'll never hit it."
