Training

It was dangerous for any of us to go back.The king was there and if we got our hands on him we would start a very real war with a very real reason behind it.I drop my phone off at my apartment before we go back to the bar.The others went in the suv straight back but me and vain needed time to cool off.Vain quite literally needed to cool down.It made me warm just touching him but if we weren't speeding right now I might be sweating to death just touching him.
"Vain I'm here please"I mumble through our joint headset.
"Sorry"He mumbles back and cools down to a more bearable heat.

"Should we go check on the king?"A smirk falls across his face as he bows for me and points his hand in the direction of the kings resting area.I lightly run towards the doors and push them open.No one's in the room with him.The lights off.Everything's off.I look behind me to see Vain isn't there.
"What the fuck did you do?"I ask harshly.
"Nothing"He lies.I turn the light on to see him.He's still here.Phew.
"Liar!"I scream.
"How else will I get my way katie"He laughs.
"We never wanted war!All we wanted was to kill you!What do you want from us?"I scream at him.
"What do you think I want Katie!"He shouts back.
"I don't know Blythe!I don't know who you are anymore!"I scream back.

"I don't care what do you want from us!What more can you take from me!"
"I want you back katie!"He shouts.Vain stands speechless at the door.I know he's there but I can't look at him.
"What so I can make you perfect little winged children!"

The question I'd wanted to ask since I heard him say the words to me lingered on my tongue. "Then why did you kill my father!"They finally come out.My hatred is pure.Like blood.
He doesn't answer me.
"Fuck sake answer me if you really love me that much!"I scream in his face.Tears run down my face.He still doesn't answer.I fall to the floor.It's nothing he's not seen before.Besides who's he gonna tell?The walls.Don't think so.
"Blythe please just tell me why"I whisper.
"He was planning war against me and said he didn't approve of the way I treat you but would happily wed me to your sister.I saw red.I wanted you and he wouldn't give me you as much as I pushed and then I snapped.I don't even remember doing it.He was there lifeless in my hands.I couldn't forgive myself."He says.I smile knowing my father died supporting me and what I wanted.
"You happy now?"He asks me.
"Yes,my father died protecting what was right for me even though it could've been his dream achieved"My tears are no longer sad.They smile their own smiles as the fall down my face.
"I never thought he could do something so selfless and for me"I turn towards vain.
"I will avenge my father"I spit as I walk away from the king.
"Same time tomorrow?"He jokes as we turn off the light and leave him in his dark quiet room.

"Riha darling bedtime we have training early so you need sleep" I say as me and vain walk into the room arm in arm.
"Five more minutes I've almost beat blue!"She says not lifting her head from the tv.
"Blue doesn't need to train tomorrow"
"That's so not fair."She says as she turns the corner and gets hit by blue's banana.She's talking to us both.
"Blue has more control over his power so he trains in the afternoon"I say as I turn the tv off.

"Night blue"She says using his head to climb over the back of the sofa.
"Night loser"He mutters back.She's too tired to argue back.

"Warm milk."I correct him.Me and vain follow her to her room.She tucks herself in and I go right up to her bed and whisper in her ear "Goodnight my love sweet dreams" with a kiss on the forehead and she's asleep.I join vain in the door way and take a look back at her before switching off her light.I close her door and walk with vain back to the main bar.
"So you think of me as her mother?"i ask hugging into his arm.
"Shut up"He mumbles hiding his face.
"No,I think it's cute"I say lying my head on his shoulder. "Does that make you her dad then?"I ask.
"Yeah"He mumbles facing away from me.
"When this is all over we can have a daughter of our own"I tell him.His whole body freezes and he stops walking.He's bright red. "Vain?"
"You want kids with me?"He asks like he didn't hear me right.
"After the war yeah,we're naturals look at the way we handle Riha and the league will help"I tell him as we walk back to our room.I moved into his since Riha took my room,well what used to be mine and lulus till jin came along and they moved in together.Nothin weird like me and vain.Strictly friends, we asked.
