"You fuckin reek of him"Vain says as I climb into bed not wanting to get changed.I ignore him trying to snuggle into him.He doesn't.I understand and give him all the room he needs almost falling off the bed.

"Is this better?"I ask twirling for him when I have his attention.
"Much fuckin better"He says grabbing my waist to stop my spinning.He lightly pecks me on the lips and for a second I have old vain back before his face goes dull and he walks to the door expecting me to follow.He walks past the black suv ,the white spare car , and even his bike!He walks straight for the range rover. He hated that car before we fucked in it and he only chose it now to one up Blythe.I need to show him he doesn't need to one up him he's already so far ahead Blythe could never win.He opens the driver door for himself and gets himself in.Do I sit in the front or the back?I start walking toward the back before I hear the window rolling down.

"Get your ass in the front"He scolds jokingly while I walk round the car again smiling at him.Maybe we could mend this.As soon as I'm secured in my seat he starts moving the car.We sit in a new weird silence it gets so bad I feel like clawing my face off.I look at him and he looks peaceful and just that makes me feel better.

"You know you still owe me a range rover"I tell him tryna break the silence.He snickers at the sudden confidence I had.It was fake. All of it was fake.

"You owe me another child"He says back.I notice his posture getting less stiff and his smile becomes genuine.My vain.My children's father.My boyfriend.Mine.The bird inside me was coming out and I don't understand why.I take suppressants for that shit and ,get this,vain is not a bird.

"You get another child when we're safe for sure"I tell him.Im not looking at him directly but I know he's shocked.

"You can have as many range rovers as you want"He blurts out.

"Come sit"He puts a blanket down right in the middle of it all.I go with him and sit next to him.
"Why?"I ask him.I have too many questions right now that I don't know what to say.

"Marry me?"He asks.I feel like crying again.I look up at him my finger still on his chest and my face full of shock.The moonlight falls on us.It's picturesque.Like in the movies.
"Yes"I say as my arms swing round his neck and I tackle him down with a giant hug.We laugh on the floor till he sits up me still on his knee.
"Why?"I ask.He said no to me.
"I planned for after the war but I can't wait and after tonight I can't loose you"He says kissing my forehead while moving his hand down.Again?But his hand comes back up before it reaches me.
"Will you marry me?"He asks again this time with a ring.It's beautiful.It's a giant red ruby secured in gold.
"Yes 1000 times yes"I say as he puts the ring on my finger.He turns my hand round to show the back of the ring.He points to the writing.
