Killing the king

Not yet

I wake up to Hallie crying.I look beside me and see vain still asleep next to me.They're cots are in our room.I'll move them into the nursery in a month I'm scared someone will take them away from me.I walk up to Hallie's cot to feed her but she pushes my boob away still screaming.
"Vain!"I shout over her screams I'm still holding her in my arms.He grumbles "just feed her" not willing to get up just yet.
"I tried she pushed me away!Vain get your ass over here"I say worry coating my voice now.Her nappy isn't full and the room doesn't smell so it's not that.I can't think of anything else.Vain stands up and joins me with Hallie.
"Why won't She Shut up"He groans.
"She's heating up"I tell him.He holds up a finger as a flame dances over it.She reaches out for it but I pull her away before she gets hurt.
"Trust me"He tells me and i let her reach out for the flame.It doesn't hurt her at all.Fire resistance.I run her back to calm her down as she's still crying when I feel something on her upper back.
"Wings"I say.Vain stops his flame and feels her back too.
"Just like her mother"He smiles at me.I don't smile back.She should start showing signs of her wings at three at least.This is way too early.I hand her to him as I pick up Blythe.I feel his back too.No sign of wings yet.
"Katie what's wrong?"Vain asks finally calming Hallie down.
"She shouldn't show signs of wings till she's at least 3"He holds her closer as I run out the room to find the doctor.I knock on his door.He took the kings room.I can hear voices inside with my wings.
"Did the plan work?"I can't quite make out the voice but I recognise it.
"Yes they believe me."
"Phase two will begin in a month"The voice says before a beep and it's gone.I decide against knocking and instead ring my brother.
"Katie it's 4 in the morning"
"I need you to come round.It's urgent"I tell him and hang up on him walking back into my room.This was gonna be one hell of a night.Hallie has fallen asleep in Vain's arms while Blythe lies in his cot calmly.
"Where's the doctor?"
"Betraying us,called my brother"I tell him but I'm too tired to go kill the doctor.He can live for a little longer.
"You get some rest I'll deal with this"He tells me kissing me on the head before I pass out as soon as I lie down.

"Katie!"My brother shouts waking me up.It hasn't been long.Hallie was still in Vain's arm but she's awake.
"What?"I ask standing up and grabbing Hallie on instinct.
"I've never seen this before.Yes I was an early bloomer but I was 1 and even I was in so much pain I was asleep for weeks on end.If anyone knows what this is it'll be our father you should ask him"He tells me.I didn't tell him.I couldn't form the words.
"He's dead."I tell him facing the ground. "Since last year."I say.
"Good riddance"My brother jokes.He hated our father.
"Then there's only one person I can go to."I say.The only person I'm close with that has wings.
"Let's go see the new king"I say.Jalken took over for his brother.Or at least he should have,I haven't watched the news since I showed my face as a villain.
I start packing the kids bag.Nappies, bottled milk,spare clothes,toys ,and a dagger.The daggers for me.No one will search the bag.I grab Blythe from his cot waking him from his deep sleep.He stays quiet though.
"Should we bring Riha?"I ask.
"Let her sleep I'll leave a note"Vain says walking out with Hallie.I walk out behind him but overtake when he writes the note.We get in the Range Rover.Decided to put the kids car seats in that one since it's the biggest. I secure Blythe in his seat as vain does the same with Hallie.I climb in the back with them letting my brother get into the passenger as I sit in the middle of my children.I loved them.My whole world was in this car,well apart from Riha.I loved them so much.I wiggle my finger in-front of them both.It's funny how different they are.Hallie ignores my finger while Blythe grabs on and tries to chew it.I laugh at Blythe causing vain to look through the mirror at us.
"He's just trying to bite my finger off.So cute"I say wiggling it about trying to break off his hold.He stays.My strong little man.
"Well we're hear so save some cuteness for the king"Vain says as the car stops.I un clip myself before the kids.We get out the car all together.Me holding Blythe and vain holding Hallie.My brothers wings puff up.They all think he's dead.
"You can wait in the car if this is too much"I tell him.
"Nope"He says walking towards the big doors and knocking on them.We step forward and join him.The doors open for us and I hate what I see.No.He's not.I killed him.Me and Riha-He had a pulse.I couldn't kill him with our bond.Fuck this shit.My wings puff out too.
"Didn't think you'd see me this early,please come in"He says widening his arms.My grip on little Blythe tightens.I follow him into the castle first.I may hate him but I've never been scared of him.Vain joins me standing beside me.My brother dawdles behind.
"Who are these little cuties then?"He asks standing the other side of me ignoring Vain's glares as he reaches a finger over to Blythe.Blythe grabs blythe's finger.I laugh.
"Our children"I don't wanna tell him they're names.
"Their names?"He pushes smiling at little Blythe.
"Hallie and Blythe"I tell him.His eyes go wide.
"Why's that?"He asks.I look around before replying.He's bringing us towards the dungeon.I make sure he doesn't know I've caught on.
"Hallie for riha"He already knew her real name.
"How is your eldest?"He butts in.
"She's fine now she's not brainwashed."I grit through my teeth before continuing. "And Blythe to represent a new start.I thought I killed you"I tell him.His face falls slightly.
"Why are You here?"He changes his path slightly away from the dungeon.
"Hallie is showing signs of her wings already"I tell him.
"Pass her here"Vain holds her closer as Blythe puts his arms out to take her.
"You think I'd hurt her?"Blythe looks sad at this.I know he would never hurt a baby.
"Vain pass her over I won't let anything bad happen"I tell him.He slowly passes her over to Blythe and he examines her back.He pulls up her top to see if there are any marks.We didn't do that.Lines form down her back.Burn marks surround it.She shouldn't get burnt.
"You haven't checked yet?"Blythe asks seeing my face.
"No what's wrong?"I ask him.
"I have a doctor here that can help her but it's gonna be at least a month of check ups"He says holding her in his arms so perfectly.She holds onto his shirt as he talks.She's falling back to sleep.Vain is staring at Blythe like he had control over his daughter.
"No way we're going."Vain says trying to take Hallie back.Blythe pulls her away shielding her from her own father.
"She needs help!Katie can stay with her"He tells vain.I look at him.
"Can vain come over to visit?"I ask.
"Yes once a week"He tells us.
"Hey it'll be practice for when we go back out"I tell him getting as close as I can with a baby in the middle.
"Does Riha still have a feather?"He asks kissing me.
"She should do"I don't wanna check it's early hours of the morning.Don't really wanna see that.
"I'll talk to you."He says.I pass Blythe over to him using this time to tell him something.
"Stay in my apartment use the phone there I have a spare here"I kiss him on the cheek as he slightly nods at me.
"See you."I tell him taking Hallie off the king.As soon as Vain's out of sight we turn and I start talking to the king.
"vain could've stayed all week couldn't he've"I ask.
"Yes but he's gone now and I'm gonna get my Katie back."He says kissing me on the cheek while letting Hallie hold his finger.She was already creeping up.
