Keefe quickly grabbed his Pathfinder and found the facet to Havenfield.
"Finally, I get to see if she is okay! Here goes nothing," He sighs. "For Sophie."
...
Keefe appears somewhere in the hills of Havenfield and sees a Sophie shaped figure standing under the Panakes tree.
Taking a deep breath, he starts to trek through the pastures, where all the animals were already sleeping.
Keefe focused his eyes on the ground, and thought about how he wanted to sleep until he was almost to his destination.
Once he was a good five feet away from Sophie, or Sophie's feet, he looked up.
She was as striking as ever, but... something seemed different about her.
Maybe I was just him, or the way the moonlight was reflecting off her eyes, but her once golden brown eyes looked blood red.
A small smirk climbed onto Sophie's face when she noticed Keefe staring at her.
Reacting to her smile, Keefe found the courage to softly wisper, "You left me a note?"
"Yeah, I did." She replied, not soft, but loud enough for Grady and Edaline to hear.
Keefe winced, waiting for a light to turn on, but thankfully, nothing happened.
"Why?"
Sophie stiffened, as if she hadn't been expecting this question. It looked like that was the case as she tried to answer his question. "I... wanted to talk to you! Yeah! Wanted to talk to you, that's right."
"About what?"
"Stuff." She said quickly.
"Well you can talk about stuff after we tell Grady and Edaline," He reached for her hand to drag her to the house. "C'mon."
He tugged on her wrist slightly.
"No"
"What, you want to go to Elwin first?" Keefe said, confused.
Sophie looked at him with her blood red eyes, before saying, "You don't understand, Keefe."
"What don't I understand?"
"See," she said, ignoring his question, "I don't want to go back with you."
Why doesn't she want to go back with me? Keefe thought before asked, "What do you want?"
A small smile crawled onto her face as she said, "Revenge." Sophie chuckled before continuing, "I want revenge on everyone who doubted me. Everyone who made me feel like a freak. Especially on the Black Swan."
Keefe was too shocked to reply.
"So, I wanted to tell you," She stared at him dead on with her eyes before saying, "stay out of my way. I don't want to hurt you. But I won't hesitate to end you if you get in the way of my revenge."
That's when Keefe noticed the small circular disk on the side of Sophie's neck. Was that what is making her bloodthirsty?
"Goodbye, Keefe." She said before pulling out a blue crystal.
Keefe knew that that meant she was going to the Forbidden cities but before he could say anything, she was gone.
He slumped to the ground in defeat. What had happened to the kind, caring Sophie he once knew.
As her words dawned on him, he realized that there was only one thing to do.
He had to warn the Black Swan.
