"Come in."
Adam steps in my room. He is adorned in a black suit that made him look like the business man he is. It made him even more handsome and striking as his tall wide frame takes up the space.
He comes closer pulling out the chair behind the desk and setting it beside my bed. I sat up sitting crisscross underneath my blanket angling my body towards him.
I wonder why he came to see me.
"Hi. How was your day?"
Adam asks sounding interested for my answer.
"Good. My classes went okay. It was a regular day. After class I had work-study.
His thick shoulders is hugged so tight by his blazer so I stare. Wondering how much weights he lifts in one sitting. Adam smiles catching my eyes on him. I look to the nearest wall.
"That's good. Andrea mentioned you went to see one of your professors early this morning. How did that go?"
"It went as expected. I got yelled at for about twenty minutes but after he finally let me explain said he was sorry this happened to me. He didn't apologized for yelling at me though. It's okay."
Adam's eyes hardened while listening to what I said.
"That's not okay Elliott. Your professor excuse my language sounds like a dick. Can I ask you something?"
"Yeah."
He is but what can I do.
Adam leans in.
"Why did you ask if Andrea and I dated last night?"
Why did he have to ask me this of all things?
"Uh, no reason. How was your day?"
I change the subject. I really can't just outright say the reason now can I. I asked because I'm jealous of the way you interacts with my mom compared to me.
"That wasn't an answer but my day was revealing."
"That's cool I guess."
Adam watched me with a look I can't put a name on. As if he knew something I didn't. But that's impossible. I look away once his stare becomes too much to handle. My face beginning to grow warm under his gaze. Why I have no idea. It just happens sometimes when he looks at me a certain way. I know I'm weird.
"Elliott I have one more question. It's a personal one so if you don't want to answer it you can choose not to."
I nod. Urging him to go on.
Adam takes his time. He licked his lips which makes my stomach quiver. There goes these feelings again.
"When did you first know you identified a woman instead of your biological sex? What gender are you attracted to?"
"That's two questions."
He scratches behind his neck. Then out of nowhere removes his blazer. Rolling up the sleeves to his elbows. Each are thick and muscular with a vein running up. Wow.
"Sorry. I didn't mean to ask you the second one, it came out without me realizing. You don't have to answer that one either."
"Its okay Adam. Around age ten but by high school I sure it's gender disforia. I'm not sure but I think both. I've mostly had crushes on boys but I've liked a girl before."
Adam granted me with his ever beautiful smile after that. He's happy about what I said. Which part I don't know. He gets up. Coming even closer.
"Thank you for sharing with me."
Before I see it coming he bends down and kiss my forehead softly.
"Have a good night."
By the time my mind caught on to what transpired he's already pulled the door close behind him.
"Night."
I whisper to no one in particular since he already left my room.
What just happen?
Adam kissed me. Not on the mouth but still it felt significant as if he kissed me there. My fingers goes up and touch the skin where his lips were.
Oh my- "Adam kissed me."
"Elliott sweetheart."
Mom announces herself coming inside my room. She stops at sight of me and just smiles. The kind that could mean anything.
"You okay sweetheart? You're face looks really red."
"Uh-h I'm okay. What happened?"
She shakes her head. Sitting on the edge of my bed.
"Oh nothing just came to see how your doing, ask if your talk with you're professor went alright."
"It went well." I confirm.
"That's good. Well I'm going to bed. Did you need the car tomorrow too?"
"No I'll take the bus to campus tomorrow."
She holds my face.
"I love you sweetheart."
"I love you mom."
She leaves my room after this.
