As Cain got back onto the ship, someone pulled him aside. Holden dragged him to the other side of the ship.
"What the fuck?" He whisper–yelled. Cain pulled his arm away and looked back at the rest of the crew on the other side.
"I know it looks bad, but they wanted to come back." Cain explained as Holden's furious expression softened. They both spun around as they heard someone walk over.
Denis glared at them both as he shut the hatch to under the ship. He walked away and went over to Jodie. They spoke for a moment before Jodie followed Denis to his room.
As they walked in, Sub shot up from a chair and went over. He opened his mouth to speak but struggled to come up with a sentence that Denis could understand.
Jodie walked over to him. He held onto Sub, preventing him from moving. He looked back at Denis in panic.
Denis took his dagger out from his belt. He grabbed Sub's arm and rolled up his sleeve. Sub attempted to pull his arm back, but the two held him firmly.
Denis held the dagger to Sub's skin. He cut his arm once then looked back up at him. "One for running off." He mumbled before leaving another cut. "Another for delaying the mission."
Jodie and Denis let go and Sub grabbed his arm with his other hand. He covered the cuts with his hand to stop the bleeding. Denis cleaned the blade and put it away again.
"You aren't allowed to leave this room unless told otherwise, got it?" Denis said. Sub didn't respond as tears began to fall from his eyes. Denis grabbed his arm and yanked him forwards to make him look up.
"Got it?" He repeated through his teeth. Sub quickly nodded and Denis let go again. He stared almost in disgust as Sub tried to wipe his tears with the backs of his hands.
"I had faith in you, Sub. I thought since you were raised in our house you'd be respectful. But clearly I was wrong. I've had it with both of you. Once this mission is over, I'm leaving you with my mother or selling you." Denis said before he left the room.

A few men sat around a campfire. It lit up the surrounding area as it popped and sparkles flew up into the sky.
Elijah watched them from afar. He sighed and laid in the grass, his hands tied behind his back and his ankle to a tree. He jumped as he heard something behind him.
The captain laughed as he emerged from the forest. "Calm down, kid. Just us," Mr. Kopotun chuckled. Two of his crew followed behind them. But they had someone else with them.
The two men dragged a woman in torn clothing between them. Her head hung and her tangled hair swayed as the two men holding her up walked. The captain glanced back at Elijah.
"Practice time." He smiled. He walked over and untied Elijah's ankle. He led him out farther into the field. The two men dropped the woman about ten feet away and tied her hands.
"Alright," Mr. Kopotun mumbled as he untied Elijah's hands. He stood up beside the boy and placed his hands on his hips. "Hmm. What shall we do this time?" His eyes lit up.
"How about we work on eruption?" He cheered as he clapped his hands together. He went over to the group by the fire. He rummaged through a bag before walking back over with a tomato.
He held it out by the stem in front of Elijah's face. "Use this as a little test." He said. Elijah looked at him then back down at the tomato. He squeezed his fists as he focused on the fruit in front of him.
