I was woken up by the feeling of someone shaking me. "What?" I asked, sleepily. "Dearest, what's wrong?" Hector asked. I narrowed my eyes at him, "Don't you have an actual daughter to say that to now?" "What are you talking about?" "Carina! I know that she's your daughter... I saw the look on your face. You know, I've already lost one father, now I've lost two. You know what actually hurts the most? The fact that my entire life, I was never anyone's first choice. It was always my sister Elizabeth. Our father always preferred her to me. All of the men in Port Royal preferred her to me. Even my own best friend, Will Turner wanted nothing to do with me when she was around. And Jack may have married me but I know deep down that he wished it was Elizabeth. I've always been the throw away. I've always been disposable," I explained.

"Not to me, dearest. Yes, I have a daughter who is my blood. You are still MY daughter! You will ALWAYS be my daughter. You will always be my little girl, Paige Marie Sparrow." Hector said as he hugged me and kissed my forehead. We went back up on deck to see how everything was. "Smyth. Smyth is quite an unusual name. Did we not once... know someone called Smyth?" Jack asked. "Shut your trap," Hector said. "What was her name? It's right on the tip of me tongue. Oh!" "Do you wanna lose that tongue?" Hector asked. "Dad, don't hurt him. Please?" I said. "Margaret Smyth. Aye. Should we make an accord then? Or I shall I tell you-know-who what we both know to be true?" Jack said.

"We both take this secret to our graves," He said. "You mean, it is true? I was bluffing." "I'm not," Hector said. "You kill me, you got nothing to bargain the dead with. So you need me. I'll have to be frank, Hector. You are very, very ugly." "No he isn't, Jack!" I said. "So how could you produce a fetching creature such as that?" Jack asked. "Oh, are you saying that your wife isn't beautiful? Fetching?" Hector asked. "Of course not! That's not what I'm saying! Paige is the most beautiful, enchanting and stunning woman in the world!" I blushed at the complement.

"Margaret died. I summoned as much honour as a worthless blaggard ever could. I placed the infant in an orphanage... never to see her again," Hector explained. I came up to him and hugged him. "I'm so sorry, Hector. That must've been awful," I said. "Aye. But then you came into my life and my light was finally restored, my dearest." "I thought the ruby might afford her some ease in life... but I never imagined she'd take those scribblings... and make a life of her own. A life that's led her back to me." "I'd say this puts me in a rather favourable position, Daddy," Jack said. "You tell me what you want," He said. "I want me compass. 216 barrels of rum. To be with Paige on our island. And the monkey," Jack said."You want Jack? I asked. "Dinner. I want to eat him. I want to eat that monkey..." "No deal, Jack. A clever young woman such as that would never believe... that a swine like me could ever be her blood," Hector said.
