A yawn escaped your lips as your boots echoed every time you took a step in the quiet base of the marines in Loguetown. It almost seemed like barely anyone spoke to each other any time you had seen someone walk by you in the halls leading up to the place you needed to be. But they could just be quiet and gazing at you in shock since you walked with two bodies over your shoulders as if it were basic luggage. Their looks were mere amusement to you, being a high class bounty hunter this was almost every day life to you. Yet it seemed as though half of the staff hired had never seen a bloodied corpse in their lives. No matter the looks they gave you your journey continued up to the top floor where a certain office awaited you. The office you have grown used to visiting ever since you were given a deal the marines offered you.
It was simple really, anytime you killed someone whether it be a high bounty on a pirate, some people from a pirates crew or just a bad guy in the streets you would bring the bodies to them. In exchange for 30% of the berries from your kills you would have a living space paid for as well as medical care under the marines. From where you stood you were close to being over the law and the rules made for the citizens. But not close enough where you could break every rule in the book whenever you wanted to. With a satisfied smirk you stopped and turned, facing the door to the office you spent most of your time at. The name tag on the side of the door with gold lettering standing out to you. With quick movement your boot hit the door in a pattern of knocks since your hands were full. Hearing some type of shuffling from within,
"Give me a second" His gravely voice was heard from the other side, bringing out this giddiness within you already. As you waited for the door to soon open up, a trail of smoke attached to the door knob as the door creaked on its hinges. Revealing the captain as he sat at his desk, his coat lay on the chair he sat on. A smile rose to your cheeks as you watched him, feeling a blush creep on to your face. You couldn't help it, here was the attractive marine captain with his jacket off. Showing off his finely sculpted muscles with just enough lighting in his dark room to see everything. Not to mention how he looked when he had his cigars, even though most hated the smell he brought with him you loved it. Always being able to tell when he was around, relating the smell of the certain cigars he bought to him.
"Sorry for interrupting your seemingly gloomy mood captain smokey, but I bring gifts and would like the berries for these wastes of space" You replied with a cheery mood as you walked in without hesitation, hearing the door shut behind you as you watched the captain move his hand to remove the cigar from his lips. He never changed the way his office looked, it was still the same as the last time you came in here around 2 weeks ago. Attempting to spread as little blood as you could onto the floor you sat the bodies down slowly.
One on top of the other, two pirates with a minimum of 15000 berries each on their heads. Claiming to be the twins of chaos as they called themselves before you stuck two fine tipped arrows into their throats without hesitation. Not wanting to hear who they were or about their crew and back story. Their image fit well with a picture hung up in a bar, hearing the bartender tell you how much broken furniture they caused as well as not paying their tab was enough to send you off with a vengeance for the old man. With one last look the tip of your boot hit the one laying on the bottom, disgust filled your expression as you watched them lay there. Knowing you could have gotten more money out of it if they were alive, but that wasn't really your style and the marines realized that once you brought the bodies in. Only managing to bring in one that was still alive in all the times you paid a visit. Your fingers intertwined with each other as you lifted your arms in the air, stretching your back after carrying those fools for so long. The sound of a pop or two erupted from your shoulders before your arms dropped back down to your sides.
"How much are they worth? Or is this just another one of your kills without money motivating it?" He asked, his voice held a monotone sound as if he was still caring about business at the moment. His gaze followed you as you began making your way toward his desk. Your hands pressed against the sides of the wood as you lifted yourself up and on top with ease. Resting your bow and arrow holster on to the desk as well so you could sit comfortably. Soon realizing what you were forgetting your hand reached into your pocket, pulling out the pieces of paper holding their images and names on the bottom. His hand reached over as he took the sheets of paper, leaning to the side to check their faces since they were identical.
