Many captains of their ships had rules to follow by in their daily life. Some rules were outrageous on some ships while others were mild and easy to succeed in following. On the Polar Tang though one of the bigger rules that needed to be followed were check ups every 3 months on the crew. With your captain being the "Surgeon of Death" as well as a very knowledgeable doctor, he scolded everyone before meeting him for not having proper medical visits. Stating that every 3 months he would examine each crew member in order to keep up with any events that have happened. Jotting down new scars, wounds, illnesses and more in the time being to make up for lost time of everyone really not caring or not having the money to go visit.

Of course since he mentioned all of the crew members, you were a part of the 22 members on the ship and had to go along with the captain's rule. Check ups weren't your strong suit either as you would much rather be attending your work station modifying and creating blades since it was your job. Thinking that it was a waste of time to go back in every 3 months just for him to have the same results on your body. Even if you were annoyed by your captain's actions you couldn't deny that he at least cared to put in the effort to see every one. Knowing he just wanted you all to be healthy and safe on their journey across the sea. Anything could happen out here, marine ships could attack, pirate ships could come out of nowhere to raid your ship, a new disease could appear on an island you would visit. So in his mind this was just merely preparing for anything that could happen.

You didn't fear your captain or doctors for that matter, respecting him and his knowledge on the practice almost always. Especially since he saved your life years ago as you were on the verge of death on an island after you were thrown overboard by your old crew. The past was painful and a bit blurry in your memory. But the warmth and happiness you felt when you woke up on your now ship always seemed to remind you of lucky you were to end up here with your family that cared about you so much. Speaking of which, it was your turn to be checked out. Dreading it as you manage your time wisely in your work shop. Knowing your captain would stroll in order to bring you to his office. The dark haired male covered in tattoos always seemed to know where you would be located. He could even go as far as to teleport you to his office and yet he took the time to wander down the halls to your room every time.

Hunkered over your sander you held your broad sword firmly in your grasp, watching as you smoothed out the sides of your weapon you were creating for Uni on board the ship. After hearing his suggestions after he asked you for a new blade you made sure you were working on what he asked of you. Wanting to enjoy his new toy when the ship would park on the islands to discover and explore. It was close to being finished, needing a handle and a guard to complete the build. Yet as you came to a stop with your sanding a knock at the door made you aware of what time it was. A groan escaped your lips as you flipped your mask up, glancing over your shoulder at your captain leaning against the doorway.

"You act like this takes forever to do" Your captain said with a smirk upon his face as he gazed upon you. Watching you lean over to sit your work of art down on the work bench beside you. His yellow eyes followed your every move, studying you like a project. How the muscles in your back were stiff and causing you some discomfort. Or the fact when you stood up you stood still for a second and blinked longer than normal to clear your vision. In his last appointment with you this was jotted down in his notes. Dubbing them as normal to you since you did work the majority of your time here on the ship if you weren't with the others exploring islands and towns or fighting alongside the crew. A stifled groan escaped your lips as you stretched while walking over to your captain. Stopping right in front of him as you gazed into his tired looking eyes, the pair you always seemed to find yourself adoring over.

"It's because it always seems like it does Law"

"Are you ready to head down?"

"Ready as I'll ever be to be exposed to the cold for another physical examination" you replied sarcastically, continuing to walk at his pace down to his laboratory he cherished so much. It was weird you had to admit spending time alone with the raven haired male beside you. He always seemed to have Bepo at his side or the duo of mischief Penguin and Shachi if he wasn't working in his office. It was hard to really get him alone anymore to yourself so if you had to stay longer during a check up then you would just be around him.
