Kisses

"I'm sorry, I can't do this" I tell Karla.
"Are you OK?" She asks me.
"Yea... I just... maybe you should ask Scott for help" I suggest.
"No, I'm doing great with you!" She protests.
"Look... I just can't do this OK? I can't teach you to do something that I can't even do myself!" I say, tears falling down my cheek.
"We're making great progress!" She says.
"I can't even do this myself!"
"Come on... same time tomorrow?" Karla asks me.
"I don't know..." I say.
"Please?" She asks.
"Alright... I guess so" I mumble. She smiles before jogging away.
I walk back across the muddy ground, through the trees and finally into the city. I take a breath of fresh air, and walk across the street a long to my house.

When I get to my house I see my window slightly open. I rush up to my room and shut the door. "Why are you here?" I ask.
"I know you refused my help... but I can see that you need it... just let me help you" Danny asks.
"I don't need help" I insist, but I know I do.
"Come on! Let me help... please?"
"You can't help me, Danny! What happens if I bite you? Or someone else who isn't easily saved?" I ask.
"Then you'll deal with it" he says.
"And are you going to be there for me in the long haul!? Are you going to be there to comfort me if I bite someone? Kill someone? Are you going to sit with me and hold my hand when I've had enough of my li--"
Danny pulls me into a tight hug. I try to push him away but when it doesn't work I let him hold me. His arms are warm around me and I have butterflies in my stomach.

I can feel tears streaming down my face. "I can't do this anymore Danny" I say and sit down on my bed. He kneels down in front of me and takes my hand. "I'll be here for you no matter what... I'll look after you... I'll help you through this OK?" He says.
"Really?" I ask.
"Yes" he whispers.
"Why are you helping me?"
"Because... Ever since I first saw you... I've felt something... something different... you're different... and I like you" he says.
"You... like me?" I ask.
"Yes... I like yo--"
I cut him off by kissing him softly. He kisses me back and it gives me butterflies again. I pull away and he leans his forehead against mine and looks into my eyes. His eyes are exactly the same as mine but brighter.
Danny takes my hand and kisses it gently before standing up. He grabs a pen and paper and writes something down. He puts it on the table and walks towards the window. "You're leaving?" I ask dissapointedly.
"Yea, but I'll be here tomorrow when you're done with Karla" he says. I nod, and kiss him once on the cheek before he jumps from the window. I watch him leave with a smile on my face.
I haven't felt like this in why feels like forever. I forgot what it felt like to be happy. Really happy. My life has been crashing since my dad cheated on mum and I was never eating much. But I feel happy today. I feel happy now for the first time in a long time I actually feel happy.
