Chapter 23

  I was sleeping good, until someone had came into the room and jumped on the bed. I had a few ideas who it was but I wasn't in the mood to guess. I was way too tired. I rolled over to cuddle with my man but the bed was empty. He must have got up to do a early run.
 
  "Get up Zara!" Scarlett said. "Me and Paige are gonna take you out for the day before the baby shower this evening. While both our mothers get the party ready."
  "No, I don't wanna." I said pulling the blankets over my head.
  "Zara, don't make me get your mother. She drove all the way to her pack to get us and drove back. You wanna know how tired she is." Scar said.
  "No, my mother has been driving me insane since she found out I'm pregnant." I said then as I sat up. "Please tell me what were doing. I'm tired, I can't keep anything down."
  "We're going to the spa, get your nails done, and going to find you the perfect dress to wear for tonight."
  "Ugh, fine. All I'm gonna wear is shorts and a tank top and flip flops." I told her as I went to my closet.
  "That's fine. I'll see you downstairs." She said then ran out of room.
 
  I rolled my eyes and grabbed my favorite short shorts and army tank top and black sandals. I brushed my hair into a high ponytail then headed downstairs. When I got to the living room, Gavin was coming into the kitchen.
  Even though he's all sweaty and musty to me it smells so good damn good. Like I could just jump his bones and ride him for hours. I started biting my lip thinking what I wanted to do when he looked at me. His eyes changed colors telling his wolf was trying to come forth. He must have smelt my aerosol of me being turned on right about now. He went to grab me but Scarlett got in between us.
 
  "Nope, not right now if you get her pregnant ass upstairs and have sex I'll never have her ready for tonight." She whined.
 
  Gavin and I growled at her and she stepped back a little. But she was right thought if we went upstairs, I would never get out of bed and get ready for this party. Paige came in with her purse and phone in her hand.
 
  "Let's go, they have a few last minute spots for us. Guessing someone has canceled on them the last second so move it people." Paige said as she turned me around and pushed me to the front door.
  "Have fun, love you." Gavin yelled out to me.
  "Love you!" I yelled back before Scar shut the front door in my face.
 
  I glared at the girls before getting into car. I don't do this type of stuff. Spas are not thing, nails and hair isn't either. I barely put makeup on or get all fancy either. But since this is my cousin and best friend talking I guess I'll let them get away with me while I can. Because in just a month or two inches gonna be walking much let alone move.
  The doctor is really impressed with how I'm handling this. But I over heard Gavin tell her that she don't have to live with me. I growled at that and Gavin looked at me with pleading eyes like he was sorry but wasn't sorry.
  I mean I lived with Becca while she was pregnant and she was having triples. How do you think she felt and she's half human. They don't even know if they will be able to shift since she's half human and the father is wolf.
  About an hour later we end up at the spa and went where we were supposed to be. They put us 3 into our own room together and it was beautiful. All you hear was soft music like it was nothing but nature. You hear a waterfall/stream with some birds chirping. It was so calming.
  As they worked through my body easily since I was pregnant, it was nice. As I sat in the chair to get my feet and hands done at the same time, I started to fall asleep. I was in my happy place.
  But my happy place was disturbed formal moment for me to move from the chair to the fold out table. As she worked on my front to my back and that was where I actually fell asleep.
  I felt all my tight muscles and knots being worked on, it felt like heaven. Like I thought I was in heaven. But where I was, I was in my happy place once again back when I had passed out a few months back.
  It was me, Gavin, and Devin all running around in the back yard and in the woods. Hunting like wolves do and being a family all at the same time. It was great.
 
  "I see your enjoying the picture of family hood." A voice appeared next to me but I knew who it was.
  "Yes I am, grandma," I said without looking at her.
  "You should thank the moon goddess for letting you have a child, my dear. Expressly with your powers."
  "What do you mean?" I asked her.
  "My dear, she told me you wasn't even supposed to have a child because she gave you a gift. You should be thankful. She's said all the things you've done since you've had these powers and she told me 'I'll give her one more gift, a gift of life. A life to pass on the heir to run the pack. A little boy, it shall be but one thing, that little boy may not be able to have child himself. But we will see later on in life how things take.' That is what I mean my dear, Zara." She told me.
 
  I started to cry a little because this could be my only child and my child could have one of his own.
 
  "I'll make sure, that when he grows up that he will help take care of all the children in the pack. If one don't have a family, I'll tell him to take it in as his own." I said. "Family helps family no matter if there blood or not. If my mother can do it, so shall we."
  "That's the spirit my dear."
 
  After that I was being shaken to wake up from my massage. When I woke up, the girls looked at me.
 
  "Are you okay?" Paige asked me.
  "You sounded like you were crying." Scar asked.
  "No, I just wanna go home." I said as I sat up from the table I was on. "Let's just say I got bad news from someone." I said pointing up.
 
  The girls nodded and we headed home. But before we did, we stopped to get a bite to eat and as we were eating, Scar had left us for a few moments to run in a little store close by. When she came back, she had a few bags.
 
  "Since we're going home and I know how to do nails, I can do them for you. I picked the colors I wanted to do and also, I found the perfect baby dress for you." She said as she brought it out.
 
  It was cute, it was strapless sundress that was baby blue with white clouds on it. And since were home and its in the back yard I can go barefoot. I smiled at her the hugged her. She was the perfect cousin even if she's a few years older than me.
  As well got done eating, we headed home and as the car ride was quiet, I felt bad that I messed up our girl day.
 
  "I'm sorry guys, I fucked up our girl time."
  "No, no." The girls said at the same time. "We get it, your pregnant and don't feel good. We was just trying to get you out and about since you've been stuck in the bedroom." Paige said.
  "Yeah, and I needed to get away from home anyways. Michael, he's great and all but we just need some time apart." Scar said.
  "Don't tell me y'all are breaking up now?" I asked.
  "No, we're not. We love each other its just that since grandpa he's been down as well and I know he's family and he has to help Parker and the boys out a lot."
  "Yea, he did look up to my grandfather a lot and if it wasn't for him Larry wouldn't have had a child. He's lost two of the best men that was important to him." I said
 
  She nodded at me and looked back forward.
  As well pulled up to the house, I saw some of the she-wolves running around, guessing my mother and aunt are being bossy and since my mother is Luna sorta they are doing what she wants.
 
  "Isn't Zendaya coming?" I asked.
  "Yeah, she should be here soon. She was visiting her human family in town today for a little bit."
  "Wait human family? Thought she was a rogue?"
  "She was but before she went rogue she was adopted into a human family. She didn't no she was a werewolf until she was 15 years old. Her parents kicked her out but she sees them time after time."
  "Don't they freak out about it? Because humans ain't supposed to know about us."
  "They did at first, but they found out that a family friend was one too and well they chilled out about it. They know she's being taken care of with her mate."
  "Has Peter met them yet?" I asked when we got to my room.
  "Sorta, on video call but doesn't talk about it. He's not very happy with them on how they did things. But he's met the family friend though." Scar told me as she started getting the nail stuff together.
 
  As well all talked as girls, Gavin came in with his hands on his head like he had a headache and knowing what my mother and aunt is doing it has to be them giving him a headache.
  He came over to me and kissed me on the lips before falling on the bed. He explained what was going on since Paige and Scarlett asked. I didn't really care as long as my mother wasn't bothering me. I laughed when Gavin said it was like world war 3 out there with those women, he don't know how my father and uncle deal with them.
  About a few hours later, nail were done, hair was done, make-up was done, just had to put my dress on.
  As I was doing that, Zendaya had came running into the room with a box in her hand. She brought it over to me.
 
  "This is from my mother, she said she may not know you but she's heard a lot about you from me. She says it should help with the pregnancy." Zendaya said as she handed it to me.
 
  I opened it up and it was a sports bra to help keep my boobs together and be more comfortable. I smiled at her then hugged her.
 
  "Awe tell her thanks."
  "Sure will. She said she used it when she had was pregnant and it's a life saver."
 
  I nodded at her as I set it on the dresser. Gavin was half asleep on the bed watching us. I felt bad for him, he's been through so much for me that don't give him credit for. He helped make this child and all I've done was bitch.
  Once I was dressed in my dress, I walked over to him, running my nails up his leg to his chest before bending down to kiss him.
 
  "I love you so much, my mate." I whispered to him.
  "Same to you." He whispered back as he still had his eyes closed. "Have fun down there. Ima stay up here and rest til you come back up here and cuddle with."
  "Okay." I said as I went to walk out the room.
 
  Then my mother and aunt came in to get me and the girls.
 
  "Oh hell naw, get you ass up alpha. You made this future alpha, your gonna join us. You have to know what to do when she's not around as well." My aunt had said.
  "No, let him be. He's been through a lot and its all my fault. I'll show him later." I said as I grabbed my aunts and mothers hands and went down to the backyard.
 
  When I walked outside, almost every she-wolf in the pack was there chatting with each other. When I came to the table where was supposed to sit, they all got up and bowed to me. I waved them be and sat down. The girls sat next to me as my mother and aunt stood in the middle of the area.
 
  "Thank y'all for coming and thanks for helping set this up with us for my daughter. I am sorry if I was a little hard on y'all but I just want my baby girl's baby shower to be perfect for my grandson." She said to everyone.
  "Mom, this baby shower didn't have to be this big or perfect. Little Devin wouldn't mind." I said as I rubbed my belly.
  "No, I want my grandson to have everything."
 
  I rolled my eyes at her as she said that. This was my child and I have a say in this. But I didn't want to start anything. Bad enough my wolf and phoenix was starting to give me a headache. I know what they were doing, they didn't like what was going on either.
  As my mother and aunt were talking and doing some baby games I just sat there watched it all not really taking anything, it was like I was zoned out. Not until I felt a kick in my side.
  I hissed a little, holding my side, getting everyone's attention. But I just waved them off. Paige turned to me and grabbed my hand.
 
  "Are you okay?" She asked.
  "Yes, Devin just kicking me. I don't think he likes this party either." I told her.
  "What do you mean?" She asked.
  "My wolf and phoenix is pissed off at my mother for making this big as party a big deal. But I'm just here for the show." I said as he kicked me again.
 
  Paige rubbed my belly where he had kicked and it helped with the pain but he kept on moving. He was turning himself around. I guess there not a lot of room in there since I'm growing a lot every single week.
  As the games were done, my my mother and aunt handed me my gifts and I opened them. Some were clothes, some were baby bottles and toys, some were things I would need for myself after he's out of me.
  After I opened everything, I felt my eyes changed a little making everyone freeze in their spot. I took a deep breath and stood up from my seat and saw someone running out of the house fast. Then I saw it was my father. I signed to know it wasn't danger.
  When I saw him, I ran to him as good as in could go hug him. God I missed him so much even though he was here for a week.
 
  "What are you doing here?" I asked.
  "Well, I had bought something for you and the baby." He said as he grabbed my hand and towed me up to the bedroom.
 
  Gavin was fixing a sheet over something and I had to guess it was a baby crib. I started to tear up a little bit held in the tears. Gavin turned around when he heard us come in. When he saw us, my father nodded his head and then Gavin pulled off the sheet. It was a baby crib like I thought and it was so cute.
  It was dark oak wood with blue covering inside. On the side it was a music box windmill with wolves on it. Perfect for my little Devin.
 
  "Dad," I whined. "You didn't have to."
  "No, I wanted to and I didn't pay for this. This was your baby bed that your grandpa had gotten you when he found out that your mother was having a girl. I just took Peter's old baby stuff and put it in there." My dad said. "Gavin called me telling that you girls we're busy, that i had to hurry up and get over here with it and bam. Wa-la!"
 
  The tears that I tried to hold in just can streaming out like a river. When you say cry me a river, well here you go. I grabbed ahold of my dad and hugged him for dear life. He just made my night so much better, I forgot what was so pissed off about. Even my wolf and phoenix was calm and guessing Devin was to because he wasn't kicking my insides anymore.
  As the night ended better than ever, I let everyone go home. Even my mother went home, guessing my father convinced her to leave with him or she just missed being home. Either way, I'm happy for that. Gavin was being in all the baby stuff from the shower into the bed room when I got out of the shower. When in saw him look at half the stuff, he looked confused on some of it but didn't ask what they were. He put them in the baby bed for now and came up behind me as was brushing my hair to kiss my neck.
 
  "So back to this morning, where were we?" He asked.
  "Really? After of all that had happened today, I'm exhausted. I fell asleep at the spa and because I didn't feel good, we had to come early. And looks to me, you didn't get to sleep like you were playing off to be."
  "Oh, I am tired and I know you are too. That's why I'm thinking we should do a quick one to tire us both out so we can sleep good tonight." He said.
 
  The offer was a great idea but I was too tired to do anything, I just want to lay in my bed with my baby daddy beside me.
 
  "I'll even do all the work, just let you lay there for once." He said smiling a evil smirk.
 
  I rolled my eyes at him then slapped his arm. I grabbed his hand after the slap and pulled him to me on the bed. I guess why not, while we still can.
  As he started kissing every part on me before taking my clothes off, I was feeling everything drain out of me. But I wasn't out of it yet. My wolf was purring in my head for this.
  As he took off his pants and side my underwear off, he put himself between my legs and started to tease me before he put himself fully in me. Once he did it was game over for us.
  It only last about 15 minutes by the time we both cam and we were both laying beside each other catching our breaths. I rolled over on my side, draped my arm and leg on him and fell asleep like a baby.
  It wasn't the best but was great and he knows it. Just me being tired, I don't have what it takes half the time and he's fine with it.
