It all seems like its been a good solid month but it hasn't, it's only been about a week, and it seems like everything had all fucked up yesterday when I had lost the most important person of my life. Time had slowed down just for something bad to happen. I don't know what to do hardly anymore, like my life went all to hell. My family all went back to somewhat normal but for me I'm not normal. My parents, sibling's, and sister inlaw went back to running their packs and the same for my uncles and my aunt. While me, I've been stuck in my office trying to figure out what the fucking do with my life. Gavin's been pushing all his guards and warriors in training like we have from the start, and double the guards around the house since I'm not in the state of mind to fight if there was an attack.
Paige has came over to keep my mind busy but it was not helping. Gavin had sent for Scarlet and Michael to also help me. Michael had surprised me with a ice mocha latte and pumpkin cheesecake. They were my two favorite things to eat when was blue.
Scar and Paige wanted to take me shopping but the whole time I felt out of place. I would smile to show them that I was okay. Even laugh if they make a joke or done something funny. But it was never the same.
While the girls were asleep on mine and Gavin's bed, I had tried to sneak out to run to the grave site but I got caught by Michael.
"Grave site?" He asked me.
"Yes, I'm losing my mind, Michael. I don't know what to do anymore." I told him.
He walked over to me and hugged me. We were like that for a few moments until he had shifted and started to walk towards the grave site allowing me to shift behind a tree then took off not to far from him.
As we got there, I sat on the ground and stared at the cross with his name of it. 'Here lies alpha Oliver, of the Crescent Pack. A great father and grandfather to those who he left behind.' I got all teary when I had saw what it had said. Gavin and them really did a great job.
"Parker, the twins and I came here a few days ago and added some flowers to it." Michael told me.
I looked up at him and smiled a little in my wolfy form. "Thanks, I haven't really been here since that day." I admitted. "I was scared to but I need to come out today and let out what I'm holding in."
"Its okay to feel what you feel. I've been there with the doctor, he was the only family I had until he got sick and died. I know how you feel, I know how it all feels. It's not the same but you have to move on. You have a great mate to help you and friends and family. I know it won't ever be the same but its true."
"I'm gonna find who done this, who sent them." I told him when I looked right up to his face.
"Zara, it was just a random rogue attack. No one sent anyone."
"Not that you know of. Someone could have sent them to take out us. And I have a feeling who."
"Who then?" He asked.
"The alpha not to far from us. The day I got here there was an attack and they happened to just show up out of the blue to help. No, no one just shows up to help."
"What if your wrong?"
"What if I'm right?"
"Either way, are you sure your willing to find out that way?"
"For him, yes. I will find those who done this." I said then ran off towards the house again.
As I ran home in my wolf form, some of the guards stopped to look at me, when they saw it was just me, they bowed their heads.
"Luna, the premier check is code 4." One of the guards told me.
I barked at him before shifting into my human form. As one of them handed me a robe, I wrapped it around me.
"Thank you." I told him. "I know its late, but can y'all do me a favor?" I had asked them.
"For you yes." The same man had said. "What's the problem?"
"I kinda need a few of your men to do a little mission for me. How much do you know about that alpha that lives on the other side of us?" I asked.
"Well he's supposed to be one of our alliance packs. That's what alpha Gavin has said. Why do you ask?"
"Do you remember the day that I got here?"
"Yes, we was attacked as well. I fought along side of you, what are you applying Luna?"
"Alpha Rikishi and a few of his men happened to show up to help. I ran into them almost attacking them until alpha Gavin showed up just in time before I had attacked him." I said.
A few of the guards murmured then stepped up.
"Do you think he sent them?" One of the younger guards said.
"Maybe, can you have Tony meet me in my office first thing in the morning. I want to have a meeting with him."
"Sure, since I'm the head do you want me along?" He asked me.
"Yes, what was your name again?"
"Mario, Luna."
"Well Mario, the rest good night. I'll see y'all around 8ish." I told him then turned away to head inside.
As I went inside the house, I went up to my room and the girls were still asleep. I sighed then walked back out and head to my office. As I walked to it, I heard Gavin talking to someone but I didn't know who. I didn't hear anyone else, so he was probably on the phone.
"No, I don't think, I know." He said. "No leave her out of it."
I raised my eyebrows up wondering what he was talking about.
"Yes, I know that it was a set up but we can't tell her. She has so much on her plate right now. Let her morn for now." He told this person.
I shook my head but walked away. I went into my office and sat down behind my laptop and started working on some paper work. I sent some emails for Gavin, to help him out to keep my mind busy. As I was doing that, I had sent a text to the twins about a favor of coming over this weekend for a meeting. I know, a lot of people isn't gonna like this but I got to do what I believe.
This was an elder alpha, not just my grandpa. But like Michael said what if I was wrong about all of this. What if I am wrong and I'm putting people in jeopardy.
But hearing what Gavin just said, what if I am right? And he wants to do this himself and leave me out of it. But I can't stay out of it.
As I sat here doing paperwork after paperwork, I slowly fall asleep at my desk. So I get up and go to my couch and lay down. It didn't take long for sleep to hit me since I haven't had that much sleep since what had happened. But that didn't stop the nightmares either.
As I was killing everyone that I saw, I wasn't stopping for shit until someone had yelled my name and it was my grandpa. He screamed for me and when I had ran over to him a wolf had came behind him and attacked him. I screamed for him as I ran faster to get it him. But the faster I got, the further he got. I was freaking out and yelled for him. It was on repeat the wolf jumping him.
"No!" I screamed raising up hitting Gavin in the head.
Tony, Mario, and Gavin were in my office looking worried about me.
"Zara, it's okay. Its just a nightmare." He told me as he held me in his arms.
"It felt so real, just happening all over again and again. I ran my fastest to get to him but couldn't."
"We know, love." He said as he rubbed my back to soothe me.
As I sat up, to whip away the tear, I just now noticed the boys. Then looked out the window then to the clock on the wall. It was morning and was 7:30. I yawned as I put my hands on my face.
"Why did you want us all together love. Mario said that you called this meeting." Gavin asked.
"Did he fill you in?" I asked.
"Some, but I want to know what your reasons are for this?"
"I feel like it was a set up and I know I'm not the only one either." I said as I looked up at him.
"What you mean?" He asked me.
"I heard you talking to someone on the phone before I came in here." I told him.
"Fine, I didn't want to say anything but I think your right. Tony had found something around the area where you found Oliver." He said.
I looked over at Tony.
"One of the wolves had a mark on them and I believe its a mountain crest. And only a few wolves have crest marks on them and they are the higher up ranks like me, Mario and a few other guards/warriors." Tony said.
"Which means killer wolf on a mission." Mario said showing me his shoulder. "You earn it during some of the missions that you take around the pack area. Its like a loyal mark to the alpha."
I nodded then got up to stretch. As I walked over to my desk, I put my hands on it to leaned against my desk to think about what I was just told. I was freaking out more than I was but held it in. My hands started to turn into my paws where my claws were scratching against my desk. I was beyond freaking, I was pissed.
"Zara, put the claws away." Gavin had said.
"How can she do that and not be a wolf?" Mario asked.
"Her mother can do it." Gavin told him. "If you have enough anger in you, you can do it. I've heard some stories about it, but never saw it until I saw Luna Olivia done it that day when former alpha Oliver died."
"I can just grab you," I said as I grabbed Tony by the throat. "And you wouldn't be able to do shit and your dead." I said as I let go of him. He was a little scared of me, I could tell when he backed away from me a few feet. "My father was scared of my mother when she first done it. She didn't know she could do it until a man had kidnapped her and almost killed her and my brother. She was pregnant with him at the time." I said as I walked over to the window.
As I was watching the sun come up, I saw the wind blowing some of the fall like leaves around. It was about to be fall soon in just a few weeks, meaning cool weather, warm clothes, the children playing in the leaves after the parents raked them up in a pile. Watching them laugh and scream of fun.
It was just all about time, how things were gonna be set off. Time for the right time, even if that makes sense. It was just time.
My mother use to tell me a story when I was younger about time, how she felt about it and that's the problem were running out of time and were gonna miss it when that time comes.
Time, and time again.
Just time.
I turned around and looked at the men that were talking while I was cooling off and trying to think of what are next moves were. If we were attacked for a reason, I want to know why.
"Gather up your men and put them in groups." I said making the men stop talking and looked my way. "I want a few of your men on a mission that like you said is loyal and willing to do anything for their alpha and luna."
"Yes, Luna." Tony said then looked at Gavin.
"Don't look at him, I'm calling these shots. For as of now. Yes, he's your alpha but I have to find out who sent them and killed my grandfather."
"She's your Luna you have to listen to her now as well." Gavin told him.
"Yes sir, where do you want us to look at?" Tony asked.
"You said it was a mountain crest right?" I asked and he shook his head. "Who would have that crest here?"
"The mountaintop pack and mountain ledge pack and that is close to alpha Parker's pack. Their kinda a family pack but I'll have them look for you Luna."
I nodded at them just as my phone was going off. It was Max. So I answered it and we talked about I wanted to do. He had Jax next to him in their room so they both can hear me about it. The both agreed to have a group of their men to help out as well so that our men didn't have to go out their way to do the mission. I wanted them close by just in case another attack happens.
I wanted this to done and over, where it can at least get to normal again. But its gonna take time.
Time was the key and answer for this mission.
