I walked towards the door to open it and Hailey was there as she smiled towards me well that's what I thought until I felt a towering figure above me. Eric stood right behind me with a hand laid on my waist and his other hand was used to lean on the door.

"There's a camp counselor meeting which we're all required to attend now" Hailey said as she twirled a strand of her hair around her finger.

"Okay, Daisy and I will be there in a moment" Eric said and squeezed my waist with his hand "you wait here, I'm going to get my hoodie" he said then moved away.

I stood by the door as I waited for Eric and smiled at Hailey while she rolled her eyes and stepped closer to me "you think you're so smart. Eric is way out of your league even when you've lost weight so stay away from him" she snapped at me then walked away.

I stood by door with a shocked looked on my face that slowly turned into a look of disgust. I turned around while I shook my head with my nose scrunched up. Eric came into the room and saw me like that and raised a brow at me.

"I think Hailey spits when she talks" I said to Eric as I went inside and wiped my face with a face cloth then walked back to Eric. When I got to the door I saw Adele and Eric kissing by the doorway.

I froze up as I looked at them then cleared my throat which made Eric push Adele away. He looked at me with and tried to come and touch me and I just retracted myself from him.

"Ha ah, you know the rule, sanitize yourself" I said to him as I joked to make it seem like I didn't care when I did care, it hurt to see him kiss Adele, I didn't understand why but it hurt. "I'll be out now, remember to lock the doors" I said to him and walked out the cabin before Eric could say anything to stop me.

When I got to the meeting grounds I went to sit by my usual spot which is the furthest from anyone and most secluded place since I never had friends, I was always the odd one out and still am. I saw Eric arrive but didn't signal him where I am as I saw Adele was with him. I kept my eyes forward as I wrapped my arms around myself and watched Edna climb the stairs to the stage.

"Hey" Eric said as he sat down next to me.

"Hi" I said back to him and looked at Edna.

"Welcome counselors, I called this meeting to make all the important announcement and make sure we're all on the same page" Edna said as she smiled "for each cabin you are going to get a specific group age to take care of during this camp. There will be competitions and fun activities to do for both the kids and you counselors. Tomorrow in the afternoon the kids will arrive with buses that have the specific cabin logo on them. Your job is to get the kids settled in nicely and spend the rest of the day getting to know each other. Every night we're going to have meetings to discuss activities and if there are any complaints you pass them on to me"

Edna then walked to the other side of the stage and picked up a note from the table "now as well know we have a special guest joining us through this journey, please put your hands together for our very own star player Eric Dawson"

A bright light shined on Eric as he stood up and he walked up to the stage as he smiled while everyone, mostly the girls, cheered on for him. When he got to the stage Edna gave him the mic and he laughed a bit "that's really flattering, thanks for the great intro by the way Edna." He said as he gave Edna a hug "uhm I'm really excited to join you all on this exciting journey and hope it ends up being fruitful. I also want to thank my cabin partner Daisy McMurtry for making these two days fun, she really welcomed me and I'm really excited to work with her" Eric said as he looked towards me and all eyes were on me.

I immediately felt embarrassed and like he put a target on my back, instead of feeling happy and honoured I felt humiliated and like a target. When he was done with his little speech he came back to sit next to me but I didn't acknowledge him. I waited for the meeting to be over and stood up and marched to my cabin as tears threatened to leave my eyes.
