Sunlight shining through my window lighting my room up just as my light would, it would be much beautiful if my stepmother Julie wasn’t waking me up for pancakes at 8 a.m. in the morning. Even though they were only cooked on rare occasions, I didn’t accept them. My stepmother seemed to be very despairing and felt as if she wanted money? My mother died from falling off a horse she was breaking in and then trampled just after the birth of my youngest sister Hope and Willow; it scarred my 3 sisters and 3 brothers for life. Julie was new to the family, I wasn’t sure if everyone else hated her or it was just me. Probably not Molly she doesn’t even know how to walk yet she’s only 9 months old. It’s weird how dad got a girlfriend 8 months after my mother died, seems as if he’s replacing mum.

‘Melody!’ Julie nudged poking my arm ‘what?’  I frowned tired ‘pancakes?’ Julie smiled ‘no thanks, go away’ I growled and turned my back.

Julie sighed and walked out clueless of what she was going to do next, I drifted back to sleep, not noticing the doorbell rang just after Julie left. Someone let them in; footsteps crept next to my bed. Dexter snuck in next to me ‘Dex?’ I smiled ‘Melody?’ Dexter mimicked. There’s breakfast out there?’ Dexter frowned ‘Julie made it’ I sighed, ‘so?’ Dexter frowned ‘don’t worry’ I sighed. Dad walked in ‘it’s time to get up?’ he smiled ‘it’s 10 minutes passed 8. ‘Yeah exactly too early!’ I huffed Dexter, started dragging me out of bed a minute later. I landed on the floor with a thump. Which actually woke me up a little bit more.

I was in Dexter’s arms and he was carrying me out into the lounge room, Julie smiled at him in a weird way. Dexter doesn’t understand what my problem was with her but I’m pretty sure he’ll find out sooner or later. Dexter’s phone beeped a new message, he put me down, everything seemed different with us now if his phone beeped he never put me down or stopped to answer it even if he knew it was important. ‘I need to go sorry’ Dexter smiled as he kissed my forehead I followed him out the front ‘you only just got here?’ I frowned ‘sorry babe, something important came up’ Dexter excused. ‘Something important’ I thought ‘nothing was important when he was with me? I had a bad feeling about something.

I walked to my room worried as hell,  ‘I love you’ I sent to him. Minutes later my phone went off, beeping at me saying more messages. All from Dexter ‘I’ll be there soon’ which didn’t really make sense he was just at my house. The next one made more sense. ‘Just left the crazy girls house, can’t wait for a romantic day with you I’ll steal your first kiss’ I was shocked but I didn’t want to take it the wrong way I tried thinking any other way to take it but nothing. A tear ran down my cheek I sniffed Dexter was at my door, he walked in ‘I forgot my jacket’ Dexter frowned as he put his IPhone down searching for his jacket he walked out thinking he had his phone he got a message Sasha- Heey hurry up come over I want my baby, I want to kiss you leave the jacket at that crazy girls house you’re my boyfriend?’ I knew he was cheating now for sure. I put his IPhone back where it was because I knew he was coming. He grabbed his phone and walked out I ran out there ‘you’re cheating on me?’ I squeaked Dexter turned around frowning ‘what?’ he asked ‘you heard me?’ I sighed tears running down my cheeks. ‘Babe don’t cry’ Dexter frowned stepping closer to hug me ‘don’t touch me!’ I growled as I slapped him across the face. ‘Don’t call me babe, because I’m not your babe apparently, Sasha is’ I growled ‘what?’ he frowned ‘she’s my cousin’ Dexter frowned ‘don’t lie to me, I saw you’re messages?’ I growled. ‘Fine, you’re dumped’ Dexter sighed walking to his car driving off I walked back inside with wet cheeks. I slammed my door as well as locking it and fell onto my bed crying into my pillow.

There was a knock on my door, ‘Go away!’ I screeched ‘I’m not going away’ Bow refused ‘Just go Bow’ I growled. One minute later I hear my door softly close I looked back, and Bow had picked my door lock I thumped my head back into my pillow. ‘Melody? What’s happened?’ Bow asked ‘don’t worry’ I sigh. ‘Tell me!’ Bow growled, ‘no’ I cried ‘fine, I’ll get Julie’ Bow bribed ‘fine!’ I spat as I took my head out of the pillow. ‘Dexter cheated on me’ I cried ‘I found texts on his phone and he accidently texted me what he was supposed to send Sasha’ I sulked ‘oh he is so dead!’ Bow threatened as he cuddled me. ‘When will he be home?’ Bow asked ‘not sure probably tomorrow?’ I guessed ‘I’ve been waiting so long!’ Bow smiled cracking his knuckles.
