"Jen, you didn't finish your breakfast. Are you sure you can't eat anymore?" Emily asked, moving the tray of half-eaten food off of JJ's hospital bed. "You can put the baby down for one second to eat."

Dr. Montgomery had brought the baby back this morning because she was looking fine and JJ was getting antsy.

"She had to be all alone her first night alive in the NICU and she was probably scared and now she doesn't even know who I am so I have to hold her!" JJ cried, tears bubbling in her eyes.

"Don't cry, baby. She knows who you are. You have 18 more years with her and she won't remember this one night. You can hold her," Emily said, kissing the top of her head.

JJ had the baby on her chest under the hospital gown. She was sleeping with her tiny eyes closed, looking very peaceful for an infant who could scream bloody murder at the drop of a pin.

Emily's phone began to beep with the sound of a text message. She glanced down and saw it was from Hotch.

"JJ," she said, sitting down on the side of the bed. JJ was so absorbed in staring at the baby that she hadn't even noticed Emily had sat down.

"Jennifer," Emily said again, tilting her face up. "I know I'm not as interesting as the baby, but can you listen to me for a second?"

"If you insist," JJ smiled, sarcastically rolling her eyes. "The team wants to come in here and meet the baby. Are you up for that?" she asked. Everyone would've come and seen her last night, but since the baby had been rushed off to the NICU JJ wasn't in the mood.

"Sure, that's fine," JJ nodded, looking back down at the baby. "When can I go home?"

"Dr. Montgomery said it'll most likely be tomorrow morning. They just want to monitor your bleeding and vitals for one more day," Emily told her. She texted Hotch back that the rest of the team could come up.

Emily grabbed one of the newborn hospital blankets and gently took the baby out of JJ's arms. "Jen, you've got to keep the hat on her. Her head will get cold," Emily said, wrapping the baby in the blanket.

"The hat makes her ears hurt," JJ said, watching very closely as Emily swaddled the baby. "Did she tell you that?" Emily laughed, pulling the tiny hat back onto her head.

"I can just tell," JJ replied, reaching her arms out for Emily to hand her back. She carefully placed the baby back in JJ's arms.

JJ cradled her and rocked her back and forth. "Hi baby," she smiled, brushing her fingers over the baby's cheeks.

"Emily, she doesn't have any clothes," JJ sighed. They had plenty of newborn clothes, but the baby had been born so small that she didn't fit into any of them yet.

"We'll get her some. Don't worry about it right now," Emily said. She sat down on the side of the bed again and kissed JJ's lips. They stared at their baby girl in silence for a few moments, both too mesmerized to say anything.

The trance was broken when there was a knock at the door. "Come in," JJ said, not looking up. Penelope was the first to walk into the room, followed by the rest of the team.

"Oh my goodness," Penelope gasped, staring in awe. "She's gorgeous, Jayje."

"Thank you," JJ blushed, happy to show off her new baby. "How're you feeling?" Spencer asked, looking her over.

"Fine. Just tired," she said. She leaned a little into Emily's arms because she needed to know she was there. "You did some exhausting work in the past 24 hours," Emily laughed, kissing her temple.

"Did you guys pick a name yet?" Derek asked. JJ smiled and glanced down at the baby. "Luna."

"Luna Roslyn Jareau-Prentiss. I think it's got a nice ring to it," Emily grinned. "That's beautiful," Hotch said softly. He was smiling. It was a small smile, but it was most definitely there.
