Seeking Serenity // Earth Vellumental (Short)

It would be nighttime around the Earth Vellumental's lonesome shrine, it seems as if he was out from his usual area within the depths of said temple although not without feeling pure fatigue throughout the Turtle's form. Despite the Vellumentals being almost deity-like beings, they all need their rest... especially someone as hard-working as the Earth Vellumental himself. But he doesn't want to spend his night within the dank and cold temple he called home, oh no, but instead he wanted to sleep out in the open and underneath the stars themselves, knowing just the perfect place to go to that wasn't all that far out from his current position. He had finally made it out of the temple, thankfully not alerting any nearby koopas that would be resting as of this time: but that wouldn't be all that he would deal with on this night knowing that he must strain his already tired form more just to get to his favorite spot.
He knew that he could keep himself up a little longer although he must be swift on his actions, he wanders through the green papery fields of Picnic Road while hoping that he wouldn't encounter anyone on his travels out... "Just a little while longer... You can do it." the Vellumental thought to himself just to keep himself motivated as he carefully looked around the empty area, the subtle sounds of crickets chirping and the nightly frogs ribbiting throughout the peaceful night. It was quite nice to finally be outside of that nasty cavern system that he lived in: the fresh air breezing through, the moonlit sky above him, not a cloud in sight as well, quite blissful in one's own opinion!
Surprisingly he hadn't seen anyone out n' about the place despite having knowledge of some night owls that remained around the area, it was strange see the usually bustling Picnic Road being so empty and quiet however t'was one of the perks of nighttime. the Earth Vellemental kept his steps quiet even if he was quite large to keep that silence up for long, it wouldn't be long until he spotted the area that he sought to arrive at. It was a flower field of sorts, covered with white, luminescent flowers known to locals as the "Moonlight Flower", as it glowed only underneath the moonlight. Ah yes... finally... he made it.
He would remain careful not to harm these flowers as this was the work of another caretaker of the plants much like himself, carefully stepping over to an empty patch of land that he made his own. It was nice to just be there with these flowers, being within their radiant presence gave the Earth Vellumental a wave of serenity. The big guy could finally sleep in peace, which he would almost instantly as he settled down within the empty patch in the middle of the flower field, feeling totally at ease and serene as the clear skies itself. He would fall asleep without any sort of issue; one would wonder what he had dreamt about... if he could dream at all.
Next comes late morning, he was unaware that he had ended up oversleeping through the entire morning. The first thing he heard upon waking up from his deep slumber was a voice... an unwelcome voice to be exact... "To think that Monsieur Tortue would be caught asleep out of his own cave... unthinkable!" said Colored Pencils, who was away from the Overlook Tower for the time, with a teasing tone of voice. This would cause him to open up his eyes and snap his gaze towards the giant case of colored pencils on the other side of the field, thankfully avoiding the flowers that was laid out in front of him, the fellow would have no words for the missile maestro himself but he would carefully hop out of his empty space and faced Colored Pencils with a slightly disgruntled look, which would only cause the other to laugh at his cohort's disgruntled demeanor "Ohohoho, I apologize my shelled friend! I just wanted to make sure you were okay, I thought something was wrong when I saw you out here on your lonesome. But now I know that you were just getting your beauty rest. No shame in that, but be careful from now on. If that gardener catches you, you'll never hear the end of it from her! Now get yourself back to your own territory before the others catch on to your sudden disappearance, in fact I shall escort you back myself." he would state as he began to lead the Earth Vellumental back to his home territory, providing as a back-up excuse for the Turtle's sudden disappearance.
Although within the Vellumental's mind, he could not stop thinking about that flower field that he had rested in last night. It was the first time in a long while that he had felt such serenity, even if it didn't last too long in his own opinion. It was a blissful feeling for him, wanting to experience that calmness once more, perhaps he can request the gardener to plant some of those flowers around his own area?... if only he had the communication skills to even ask... maybe one day, my dear Earth Vellumental... maybe one day.
