Rainy nights, lovely god (2)

Ei woke up in the middle of the night.

The rain was still going. That's not why she woke up, however. She woke up due to loud banging coming from outside. She placed her slippers on and went to see exactly who was banging on her door at midnight.

Ei's pov

I went downstairs as the banging got louder, Yae wasn't in bed either. Precisely that's who I found outside. She was drenched and shivering. "Finally I thought I'd never get you up!" She whimpered as she placed herself in my arms. I started carrying her. "Why were you outside Miko?" I asked. She sneezed. "Some idiot was messing with my shrine maidens! And it took so long to deal with, then I misplaced my keys and locked myself out!" She complained in my arms. I looked at her with sorrow as I started a bath for her.

"You need to stay home tomorrow ok?" I said to her gently. "Yes... I'll rest for tomorrow but I have to go back to work, I've missed more than a few days now..." She whined again.

After a long bath, she clothed herself and came onto my bed, still shivering. "I'm sorry you had to deal with that Miko..." I whispered. Miko began purring like a little cat. I started petting her. "Stop that!" She pouted, just urging me to pet her more, just to tease her of course!

"Your tail is wagging, are you sure you want me to stop?" I said, stroking her ears now. "Well... no..." Miko murmured to me. I started petting her tail. "I'm getting you back for this..." Miko mumbled as she sneezed. I chuckled as I rested her onto me. "Goodnight!" I said, kissing her head. "Mhm, night!~" Miko said as she rested in my neck.
