Chapter Three

"Alix, this is Adeline Silver, she'll be your guide until you known your way around." Mr. Snow introduced us, but I wasn't paying any mind to him. I was to busy staring at Alix Stratton.

He was, hands down, the most attractive guy that I had ever seen. His hair was jet black spiked up, not looking styled, but strangely natural. He had fine features and tanned skin. And his eyes! They were a deep, piercing blue. Not a normal sky blue, and not a cold ice blue, but a shocking, beautiful mix of the two. Though he was tall, he wasn't lanky; he had a lean, but muscular build. I couldn't help but imagine the muscled skin hidden under his black t shirt. Paired with his leather jacket, dark jeans, and black motorcycle boots it added to the whole dark, mysterious bad boy thing he had going on that only added to my infatuation.

"Alright, now you're both free to return to class. And Adeline, I expect that there won't be a repeat of this situation."

Mr. Snow dismissed us, and I quickly moved from my seat and out if his small, claustrophobic office space. I avoided eye contact with Alix, not wanting to continue staring at him and further embarrass myself. I walked past him and out of the doorway. Before I could leave the office though, Mrs. M stopped me.

"Adeline, I'd better not see you in is office again young lady. You're lucky I don't tell your aunt about this, but next time I will not be so nice." She made it a point to stare daggers at me while I stood there, blushing like an idiot and attempting to ignore her. "And Mr. Stratton, don't let this young lady be a bad influence on you. I don't want her corrupting our new student."

Alix shot me a questioning glance, and I ducked my head down and blushed a little deeper. I went to on walking down the hall before yelling "thanks Mrs. M", over my shoulder. I wasn't sure if Alix was still following me to class; I didn't here any footsteps after me, so I turned around to face him.

Apparently, he was, because when I turned around, I ended up slamming into him. He was seriously strong. So strong, that I felt like I was hit by a bus, and I ended up sprawled across the floor, while he stood, unaffected above me. I looked up at him from behind a curtain of golden hair that had fallen over my face. At this point, I was sure my face was a deep scarlet.

Alix looked down at me amused. "How's it goin' down there?" I scowled, turning my attention to the floor. "So, how long are you planing on staying down there?" He wore a crooked smile, and I was fairly certain he knew that I'd like to slap it right off his perfect little face.

Then, he had the nerve to offer his hand to me. I slapped it away, "I'm capable of getting up on my own just fine." I stood up, glaring intently. I didn't care if he was the hottest guy on earth, I wouldn't be made a fool of.

"You're upset." He stated, frowning deeply. I wouldn't admit it to him, but seeing him sad broke my heart. "I didn't mean to upset you Adeline, I swear. I was just joking." He sounded so serious, so sincere. It really wasn't that big a deal, and why did he care so much if I was upset anyway? Wasn't it him making fun of me five seconds ago? Feeling confused and slightly idiotic, I began staring awkwardly at the floor.

"Umm, it's no biggie, don't worry about it. And just call me Addie, everyone does." I was uncomfortable now; his gaze was really intense, and I was certain I could feel his eyes burning holes into me. His deep, beautiful, sparkling blue eyes. I looked up at him, then quickly back down once I'd realized that he had indeed been staring at me.

I heard him chuckle from behind me as I set off down the hall again. "By the way Adeline, I think your blush is adorable." Even as he said that, I felt my face warm up. I rarely even blush, until today, at least. I seriously had to get this under control! I hate feeling so flustered around him just because of his stupid attractiveness.
