Sonic looked at himself in the reflection of the blood lake, he face was still heavily scarred from Fleetway running his claws against his cheeks. He did have some regret about leaving the life that he had, and was not being able to tell his family goodbye, he was just to mentally broken to even comprehend what was happening to him.
He just didn't want them to think that this was their fault, when in fact it was his own.
His ear twitches when the sound of the church bell ringing, of course in a place like this religion still exists, it was only to give those who end things much earlier than him, a since of guidance to be able to back to have a second chance.
He had that option, but he didn't want to...he didn't want to live with the pain, the false happiness that was given to him when he was kidnapped, and the ever growing pain in his heart when his children were stripped from him.
For being the Lord of Torment, he definitely gave Sonic something, and that was something other than Torment.
"I'd thought I'd find you here" Fleetway said as he walked over to Sonic.
The angel shifted his gaze over to Fleetway, who sat down beside him on the dead grass.
"Never thought...I'd be happy that you didn't take that offer of getting a second chance" Fleetway started, he red spiral eyes looking down into the lake.
"Are you saying that you like me now" Sonic joked, he personality had changed to being something more playful...he had a lot of weight lifted from his shoulders now, all that Suffering was gone and he had a reason to smile and be happy again.
"I liked you better when you were a fucking mess" Fleetway snapped, Sonic took a hold of his hand.
"Heh that's not what you a month ago~" Sonic admits as he cuddled close, his ears tilted back.
A month ago, was rather something of course...it was the first in many years where Sonic felt happy, alone from all those painful memories, it was first where he actually showed genuine emotions, emotions that Fleetway had never seen.
"Well I take it all back..."
Sonic chuckles as he nuzzles into his mates cheek, "Thank you"
"I was only answering your cry, If I would've known you taught me something other than Torment, I'd probably would've left you to suffer" Fleetway admits he lets out a small sigh before Sonic to his lap. "Just because your here...doesn't me I'm going to be soft"
Sonic folded his wings to his back, and purrs. "Not asking you to...just want you to know that you gave me the hope that I needed all those years ago, and that I'm happy we can be together"
Fleetway scoffs, "Hope...I am anything but that, but Thanks for thinking of me like that"
"So...You'll finally give me a kiss~" Sonic asked.
Fleetway, presses his lips to Sonic's who gladly kissed him back, a golden charm appearing on his collar with Fleetway's name on it.
Finally...the Suffering is over.
