Sophia POV
As I stir I already feel the headache start to loom, peaking though one eye I check the clock, eleven AM already.
Pulling up the covers I snuggle back in, today is a me day and I am not going anywhere. Disney films and something delicious, or greasy should have me feeling better in no time. A loud buzz from my phone pulls at my happy thoughts as my stomach knots.
Unknown Number.
I think of last night, maybe it was a nightmare, if I don't check it maybe they will go away.
It buzzes again.
I slowly turn the phone over, deciding to ignore it, choosing to spend the rest of my evening in my happy place.
After the first movie I start to feel really hungry, I could have a conversation with my stomach. Searching the kitchen cabinets is frivolous as I am hardly here, but I do have the ingredients for pancakes.
Tapping the end of the wooden spoon to my chin I pace looking for toppings. Ice cream would be amazing right now, the freezer is empty.
I guess I'll have to order some, going for my phone I pause deciding I'll have to try and do it the old fashioned way.
Grabbing out a phone book I look for ice cream parlours, I use the landline I call 3 places, 2 sound confused as to why I am calling and to just use UberEats. Groaning I try one last place with success.
She's short and impatient, must be busy poor thing, I give her my order, "will you be paying by cash? Or card?"
"That's a great question give me a second,"
Running to my bedroom, checking my side table I look for my purse, empty.
Strange, I make my way out to the front door table, only other place it could be.
Empty.
Shit.
"Actually, I am only noticing now I have lost my purse, sorry I'll have to find it and I'll call back."
She sighs hanging up on me, where is my purse?
I start to retrace my steps and look under my bed when my phone buzzes again. Sitting on my knees on the floor I look at the phone grabbing it and checking the messages.
Good morning sunshine, I hope you slept off some of the alcohol. I have something of yours you might want back.
Another message followed by;
It's Avery if you didn't know.
With another;
It's your wallet, I have your wallet.
And a photo of him with my wallet, actually 3 photos with it.
One with it sitting on his face while he is in bed, shirtless. Jeez he has really bulked up since school I squint my eyes taking a closer look.
The second one is him having breakfast with my wallet sitting at a plate beside him.
And the third is a photo of him holding outside of my bakery.
And a message from Tessa, hottie at the store for you, -with a wink face-
Fuck. The phone rings in my hands and in a complete panic I toss it onto the bed.
Quickly recovering I pick it up and answer.
"Hello?" Perfect play ignorant, "to whom am I speaking to?" Maybe too much.
