Several days later

Everything went well. With the new investor was it possible to hire enough people to make Thneeds without chopping trees while still getting good sales.

Even Isabella had to accept this. It was good to show her that she had no control about her son anymore! But I knew she won't let got. I mean, she still though that she knew what was "best" for Onceler.

It was lunch time and I was at Onceler office again to eat there. But we got interrupted by a knocking. "What is it?" Said Onceler quite annoyed.

His mom came into the room, a little too happy for my liking. "Oh, there you are, y/n. I just wanted to let you know that I have some special guests for you. Should I let them in?". Special guests? For me? What is she talking about.

I looked at Onceler and he nodded that they could come in. "Well, uhm, sure, I guess?"

What I didn't expect were my mom and dad?! They were rushing to me, giving me hugs and kisses on the cheek. "Oh, y/n! We missed you so much! We didn't know you would make yourself this popular!" Disgust was on my face and I pushed them away. "Don't touch me!" I said in anger. Everybody else looked at me as I did something weird. But they didn't know anything!

"Can you please go?" I said as calmly as possible. "But, y/n, we want to be at your side again. We now see that you are more special than we thought. You not a loser. We meant that as encouragement." my father said, having the audacity to sound like a innocent being while saying the words that triggered me since they first said them to me.

"I won't say it again! Go!" My patience was at it's end. My blood boiling, trying my best not to get in rage while letting my tears fall like always. No, I wanted to stay strong, not letting her get me to my limits, if it was that what she wanted to do with getting them here.

Oncelere looked at Isabella, that tbey should go know, because he was concerned it would escalate even further. I didn't saw it, because he was behind me. "Oh well, I guess you have to go again." Isabella said. They all left and when the door was closed I turned to Onceler. I was sure, he was not happy about me being that mean to them. "Oncie, I-" I said with a apologizing face.

"You didn't need to be that cruel. They seemed like nice people, you know? Wouldn't it be possible that they changed?" I really didn't want to argue with him. It wasn't worth it "You don't understand.. Even if they would have, I just can't do it. Not anymore. Not when ... I have you"

He got up, giving me a hug while whispering "Sorry..." I looked up to him "What do you mean? Your mom did all this" Slowly he shook his head. "Not really, I helped her finding them... I just though that you might be happy if you see them again"

I pushed myself from his hug and looked at him in disbelieve. "You knew that I didn't wanted to go back to them, but you still did it? I can't believe it!" Mad at how he just ignored my boundaries I got out of his office to get back at work.

After I calmed myself down I slowly realize what she actually wanted to do. She didn't wanted to make me mad for just a day by having to see my family again. Or make me cry in front of everyone. Maybe it was a side plan but not the original purpose. No, she wanted me to have an argument with Onceler, so she was able to talk into him again. I felt so dumb falling for that. But to be honest I didn't expected her to go that far.

With that in mind I got up from my small desk and got to Oncelers office. Without knocking I opened the door, completely ignoring that his brothers weren't standing there anymore. When I got in his head was on his hand to support it while he was looking down. "Oncie, I'm sorry, I-"

I looked shocked when he looked at me with his teary eyes. Quickly I walked over his and gave him a hug. What the hell happend?! Did I made him this sad? "Oncie?" I asked quietly.

He sniffles and and hugged me back, hard. "When you left my mom came in again.. To convince me to chop trees again. But I told her that it won't happen and that I wasn't in the mood to talk about this right now. She got mad and we... Fighted and then she told me that I let her down after they... They left" His grip got harder and I stroke his hair carefully to calm him down.

"I'm so sorry Oncie..." His eyes looked at me and he shaked his head "No you were right.. I should have listened to you from the very beginning.. And I should be sorry for bringing your parents ... I should have not ignored you boundarys!" I smiled at him as I gave him a kiss on the for head. "It's all forgotten so please don't be sad. I hate to see you like this. You should smile"

He buried his head in my chest and sobbed for while till he calmed down. "You won't leave?" - "I'll never leave" I promised him. His grip was still strong and was slowly getting me closer to his lap "If you want me to sit on you lap, you just need to ask"

He chuckled as he got a light red shimmer on his cheek."Can you come on my lap, please?" I nodded as I sat down is his lap with my face in his direction. "But first" I got a tissue to clean his face from all the tears. "Now look at you, prince charming!" I teased and he had to laugh with me.

His hands were around my waist as I got comfortable on his lap. "Our shift was over 5 Minutes ago." I said quietly. "Wanna go to my place? It's not like I'm in the mood, but we could still watch a movie or something"

I giggled "Sure, but how often I'm at you place I could just move in" I joked. He looked down to me as I was playing with his hands "Sounds good" I stopped a second "w-wha- well, I mean. Isn't that too early?" He sulked "You lived with me in the woods!" - "Thats something comepletly different, you know!"

It got silence for a while "But if you want to... We can" I said while looking carefully up to him only to see him smile "Yes, let's do that!"

We got to his place only to chill around, watching movies, talking about things we wanted to, snuggeling and making dinner together. It was like a normal day as awalys and I was happy the Onceler was now hopefully away from his toxic family for every.
