The Legend Trilogy by Marie Lu

Alright, so I read this trilogy not too long ago and it was a friend who introduced me to it and may I just say, I haven't forgiven her yet. I'm just kidding, but yes, these books were traumatizing at times.

Legend was immediately captivating and I fell in love with the characters. The first death is somewhat predictable, but it was still a death and still sad. You learn a lot about the setting, which is future United States, except it's been divided. The Republic against The Colonies. I don't want to spoil anything but let's just say it gets pretty serious in the third book.

The two main characters are Day and June Iparis, however Day is not his real name but instead his street name. You'll discover his birth name soon enough, if you read the book, that is. At first it may seem like a common love story but it really isn't. It's about trust, betrayal, family, survival, and justice.

The second book is called Prodigy and it drags a little bit here and there but overall I enjoyed it. We discover new people, fall in love with new people, begin to really hate new people, and it's a book just full of emotions and had me really sad towards the end. There is death, as there is in every shucking book.

The final book in the trilogy is Champion and the way it started off, I got a little mad. But I cooled down because, well, no spoilers. I rooted for Day and June at so many parts and I loved it so much I laughed and cried SO MUCH AT THE ENDING. You think TFIOS was sad? Oh my god, I thought I knew the ending but it surprised me. Not that I'm complaining. I cried, and laughed, and it was a rollercoaster of feels. I definitely recommend these books because if you didn't read them already, you need to. Like right now. Don't bother renting them out at a library just buy them. Because I borrowed the books I read from a friend and trust me, I did not want to give them back.
