After about half an hour of standing outside the building, watching everyone else walk over to their cars or just head away from PAX, I was getting tired of waiting. My legs and feet were starting to ache and I was getting bored.
I don't think this is actually happening..
Suddenly I heard a familiar Irish voice call my name.
"Y/n! I am so sorry I took so long! We both got kept behind.." he laughed, rubbing the back of his neck in embarrassment.
I giggled.
"You're good Jack, don't worry" I replied, smiling.
"Please, Sean is fine. You don't have to call me Jack" he chuckled.
"Someone's in love I see" Mark teased.
"Oi, ya bastard. Feck off!" Jack exclaimed, whacking Mark in the back of the head.
Mark rubbed the back of his head in pain as I laughed at their antics.
Jack cleared his throat before continuing.
"Anyway. I was wondering if you would like to come get dinner with us?" he smiled, nervously.
"Eh, sure, why not" I shrugged. "I had no idea what I was gonna do for dinner anyway"
"I'll take it!" he replied, triumphantly. "Come along, lassie! And Mark"
Jack started walking away from PAX with me in tow. Mark rolled his eyes while smirking, before following us.
"I know a restaurant not far from here we could go to if you guys are down?" Jack asked.
"I'm down" I replied.
"Sounds good to me" Mark chimed in.
"Let's go then!"
We continued walking. It was getting quite dark outside and the only light available were the streetlights above us. As we headed towards this restaurant, we passed a suspicious looking alley but I saw something strange. A little girl was stood there, shaking in fear and staring at me with a pleading look in her eye. I heard her say "Can you help me?". I was hesitant but it was almost as if I was in a trance. I walked over to the little girl and knelt down to her level.
"Are you alright? Are you hurt?" I asked, calmly.
Jack and Mark turned around, confused for a second before seeing the little girl as well. She looked up at them and backed away slightly.
"Bad men. Very bad men." she spoke, pointing at Jack and Mark.
"No, no, we mean no harm, we promise!" Jack exclaimed, raising his hands defensively.
Mark nodded his head in agreement.
"Leave!" the little girl screamed.
Jack and Mark were taken aback by the sudden outburst from her and backed further away.
