Jax and I were playing different card games on our coffee table with Never Have I Ever playing in the background. We were currently who could get more wins in the game speed before the episode ended. So far it was 9-6 (me winning)
The two had restarted it the second they finished the last episode.
as Sabrina put down her last few cards, her phone lit up with a message from her sister Caiti.
The girl picked up her phone and read the message. Her eyes re-read it repeatedly.

hey, I know we haven't talked a lot recently but something happened with dad. I know you two were close before you left and I think you should rush home... he's in the hospital.
what? Can you tell me the address, I'm on my way. What happened? Why is he in the hospital?

Sabrina pushed her phone in her pocket and told Jax that they needed to go.
"my dad is in the hospital. Grab whatever you want, I just want you to be there with me in case my family becomes a bit much." Sabrina looked at Jax. He nodded, "let me grab a hoodie and a phone charger and we can go."

mom won't tell me or anyone shit. The only thing I know is that I found him unconscious in his bed when I got home from school. The doctors only talked to mom and like I said, she won't tell me anything. They said they can't tell anyone below the age of 18.
I'm on my way with jax. I will talk with the doctors and let you know. Please don't tell mom I'm coming. She will try texting me and I don't think i want her constantly texting me when im already stressed out about dad.
I promise i won't. I don't think mom will notice if you do show up. She's on her phone, acting like nothing happening. I told her she can go home if she wants and I could get an Uber home but I'm not allowed to stay until I have supervision of a 19 year old which is a stupid rule, I'm not even that young
okay, that's fine. I'll be there in 10.
time skip
Sabrina walked through the sliding doors and Caiti immediately ran up to her. "thank god you're here."
Sabrina looked around for a moment, and spotted her mother sitting in a far corner on her phone. She looked.. different since the last time Sabrina saw her.
"Come with me to see dad." Caiti gestured for the two adults to follow her. Sabrina quickly followed, with Jax in toe. Soon they reached a room. Caiti knocked on the door softly, and a nurse let them in.
The nursed paused before letting Sabrina and Jax in. Sabrina explained how she and Jax were relatives of her father. And soon, Sabrina was sitting at the edge of her fathers hospital bed.
"dad.." Sabrina whispered as he slowly turned his head toward the girl. His squinted eyes seemed to open a little bit wider and a small smile creeped onto his face.
"My girl..." he said in a husky voice. "You're here."
"of course I am. You're my dad." Sabrina smiled.
The man's hand held Sabrina's. "I'm sorry for how I treated you." He said, tearing up. "we didn't end on good terms."
Sabrina shook her head. "Please, save your breath dad. We can talk later. I'm just happy to see you're okay."
