Natsu and Kurome found themselves standing in the command center of Plantation 13, along with Dr. Franxx. The room was quite dark, only being illuminated by some eerie orange lighting coming from the massive monitors covering the walls. As Kurome was snaking away at her cookies in her pouch, Natsu crossed his arms.
Natsu: "Well this place totally isn't eerie at all."
Kurome: "Better than all the blinding shades of white the rest of the Plantation is covered in."
Natsu: "Good point."
Dr. Franxx: "Children." The two looked at the old man who stepped forwards and gestured towards a man with a buzz-cut wearing a commander uniform. "This is Hachi, Plantation 13's Defense Commander. Hachi, they are Codes 009 and 013."

Hachi: "Pleasure." He responded, barely looking in their direction as he was fixated on the main display. Natsu blinked before leaning over to his partner.
Natsu: "Just as much as I expected. So, he's the boring one."
Kurome: "All of them are like that. Better get used to it."
Dr. Franxx: "Natsu, Kurome." The two looked at the old man as he was approaching them. "You two will be remaining here with Zero Two for the time being. Please do try to keep her out of trouble."
Natsu: "No promises doc. You know how she is."
Kurome: "You're leaving without us?" She asked. Since travelling alongside him, the two hadn't left the Doctor's side so it was kind of a new experience for them.
Dr. Franxx: "Yes, I am. I have some things to take care of. But I will visit from time to time. For now, Nana will look after you." He said as the aforementioned caretaker entered the room with a smile.
However, before anyone else could speak, Kurome suddenly did something unexpected and hugged the Doctor. While he and Nana were surprised, Natsu wasn't in the slightest as he knew why. Kurome had never liked separating from others and since the disaster with Plantation 30, she had grown more paranoid of separation.
Kurome: "Just... Please come back..." she whimpered. There was a brief silence before the Doctor sighed and gently patted the ravenette on the back like a child.
Dr. Franxx: "I will. Don't you worry, dear girl."

Plantation 13... Bird Cage...
After the Klaxosaur attack as the Start Up Ritual the previous day, Strelizia and Epiprea were stored alongside the Franxx of Squad 13 in Plantation 13's hanger. Now as the sun was shining brightly over the Plantation, Natsu and Kurome were making their way through the Bird Cage, after being introduced to Hachi early on.
