Chapter 4: First Mission

Ichigo: "...K-Kurome...?" She questioned, her tone quiet and frail.

Kurome: "Yes, Ichigo?" She answered as the bluette slowly pulled back, her normally bright emerald, green eyes now puffy and red from all of her crying.

Ichigo: "T-Tell me..." She sniffled and looked at the ravenette in the eyes. "D-Do you know what a... *sniffles* a kiss is...?" Kurome's eyes widened as the sudden question, with her being stunned into silence for once. The only thing running through her mind now was...

Kurome's thoughts: "Oh hell..." she sighed internally, a beat of sweat falling from her forehead as she found herself caught off guard by the question. "When did she... Wait, did she and Hiro... Oh damnit... Fine... Think Kurome... how would Natsu explain this...?"

(In Kurome's mindscape)

Natsu: "Oh? Well, a kiss is when a man and woman who love each other very much, latch their lips together. It can go from being as simple as that, to being as steamy as using their tongues and whatnot!"

(Outside Kurome's mindscape)

Kurome's thoughts: "Dumbass! He's totally say something like that and go into detail!" she mentally screamed before taking in a deep breath. Thinking of an answer, she looked back at Ichigo, who was still awaiting her answer.

Kurome: "Well... To put it simply, it's a way to show affection."

Ichigo: "A way to... show affection?"

Kurome: "Yep. Think of it being kinda like... a hug, only more... intimate. It's where two people, more often than not, a male and female, lock their lips together. It's a way to show that person that you truly care about them, but you usually only do it with someone you truly, truly care about."

Ichigo: "Like... you and Natsu?"

Kurome: "Yeah... Like him." As she paused, she noticed the bluette's expression slowly turning more flustered, with her cheeks turning pinkish. "Well, that aside, we'll have to save this conversation for another day. Right now, we should change and go to bed. Tomorrow's gonna be a busy day for you guys, since it'll be your first true mission, involving the Klaxosaurs." She patted her shoulders with a smile and stood up, while pulling her up as well. "You feeling better now?"

Ichigo: "Mm..." She gave a small nod, but overall, her expression seemed to brighten up slightly. "I do... Thanks, Kurome."

Kurome: "Hehe... Anytime."

>Chapter 4: First Mission<

The next morning, after breakfast, Nana took Ichigo and Hiro away to do some tests. Natsu was leaning against the wall in the lounge of the boarding house, with Kurome sitting with the rest of Squad 13, minus Goro who had gone out to do some fishing. The red-haired male kept his arms crossed as he replayed the events from the previous day, trying to figure out what happened inside of that cockpit and the reason why Hiro's connection failed after going strongly.

Futoshi: "So, what happened to the talk about Hiro becoming a Parasite?"

Natsu: "It's still in consideration. He did pilot Strelizia and even though it was only for a few minutes, he piloted Delphinium."

Zorome: "No way he's getting in with that weak shit. He couldn't even win against Mitsuru and Ikuno."

Mitsuru: "Like you're one to talk." Zorome flinched at his voice. "You got your ass handed to by Epiprea, who you chose to battle against, in barely a minute. And they were still holding back against you." He said, with Kurome giving a small nod as she was simply nibbling on her cookies.
