Chapter 1

On October 11th,1996 a girl was born. That girl is me Symone Alexandria McAlister. I was always thought my life was this grand fairytale. I had the best of everything from clothes, to friends, my house pretty much everything. Then I went to high school.

"Symone"!!!, my mom yelled from her room.

"Yes"!!!, I yelled back.

"Come here please"

"Coming", I answered as I threw a tantrum because I was already so comfortable in my bed.

"Yes ma'am, I said as I entered her room.

"Your going to the school of Nazarines".

"What the fuck is that", I thought.

"What is that"?, I asked.

"It's a Jewish all girls school".

"I'm not a Jew I'm a Gentile".

"Hahaha, she laughed,"That means nothing".

"It's against my religion", I exclaimed.

"I don't care", she said.

That night at Bible Study my bestfriend Jennifer ( at the time ) begged and pleaded for my mom to let me go to Leon with her. She was a year older than me. She went there and wanted me to be close to her. Eventually my mom gave in. "Ok Jen we'll see how her first year goes". I couldn't believe that woman. It took another child to ask her to let me go to public school. "What kind of shit is that"?, I thought as I begged too. She finally gave in and said yes. Little did I know that decision would alter my life forever. For the next 3 months I tried to ready myself for the ninth grade. I changed my look, got bangs, new clothes and a new attitude to meet and make new friends. Everyone I knew that went to Imagine with me was gong to Leon which was good for me because I'd have friends already. I was nervous just thinking about being a Freshman in high school. It was the summer time and all I did was eat, sleep, shop, and go to church and dance practice. Every year at my church the youth department always w3ent ta church convention in a different state for a couple days. I loved God and everything but we already went to church on Mondays, Tuesdays, sometimes Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. I didn't want to go so I told my mom no to going. So I stayed home with my sisters and we did the usual. Go to church almost everyday of the week. The summer passed by slowly, but luckily I had things to do that I enjoyed to keep my mind off the time and Florida's hot and humid days. My family and I went school shopping over the next couple of days before school started the following week.
