For the first time in seven years, I open my mouth to speak.
I must think carefully about what I say. "Have something tell, Eric." He looks at me in shock. "You... talk? But you haven't since you first moved here four years ago!" "Me too, have... Talent." "Wait. Why are you talking so weird?" "Talent start otherwise."
Eric motions for me to continue." Talent Truth. I say, world obey." "So... you call your talent 'Truth', and whatever you say, happens? That's so cool!" He says energetically, but it's painfully obvious he doesn't believe me. I shake my head. "Will try something. Wait sec.." I breathe deeply. "Until I say otherwise, Eric Forthwright will remeber what happens next as it happens, no matter what, until Isaac Fairydust says stop." That name is still embarrasing.
"What are you talking about, of course I'll remeber." I beckon for him to follow again, and we walk next door. "No one, except for us, can see us for the next ten minutes." "What are you saying? Like that's really..." I throw a stone at the neighbors door. A girl from our class comes out. I think her name was Clair? From Eric's reaction, he must have a crush on this girl.
As she looks around, I poke her nose. She grabs it, startled, and looks around some more. I look at Eric. He doesn't want to, but he's starting to believe it. One last push. I tell myself. "Hello. I'm your neighbor." Clair starts screaming, and runs inside. I yell so Eric can hear. "The last five minutes, the Clair thats running away from me, was at school for a textbook she forgot." She vanishes.
I turn to Eric, whose mouth is agape. "Me and Eric have been in my room for the last five minutes." The scenery melts away, and we're back in my room. "We are visible again." And we're back to normal.
"Stop. Anyways, paper is in front of me, and on it in my handwriting are the words 'everything just now never happened. Literally. Clair won't remeber tommorow, and even if she could have, she can't, because of what I just said, which put us in this room for the last five minutes. Regardless of your memory, we never even left."
