"... and that's the truth!" Josh looked wildly around the table, hoping to see one sympathetic face. Hoping that someone would believe him.
Noone would meet his eyes. His twin sister, Joyce, stood in the open doorway between the dining room and the kitchen, arms folded, looking down.
"Joyce?" The pleading was undeniable in Josh's voice.
Joyce raised her head and looked at her brother with pity. "I'm sorry, Josh. I want to believe you. I do. But this is way out there. You want us to believe you were out all night helping Chewbacca save his long-lost brother, Bigfoot? Really?"
Josh felt the coarse hank of hair in his jacket pocket. It would prove his claim, but they would probably take it from him. He decided to drop it. "Yeah, whatever."
