The vampire king is my mate.

Chapter 1

"Katie!" I hear my mom shout. I jump up from my bed. "Yeah mom?" I ask her. "Honey it's time for school, you don't wanna be late!"
"Ok mom, be down in ten minutes. Right, I forgot got that school was today. Ever since dad found a new job we had to move. I hop in to the shower and wash my hair with my favourite shampoo: Roses and vanilla. When I'm done I choose my clothes for my first day at a new school.

I choose a cute light blue off the shoulder top with some dark jeans and some vans. When I get downstairs I see my dad sitting at the table drinking coffee and my mom making breakfast for my dad. My dad asks, "Are u ready for your first day honey?" I think to myself, not really. Instead though, I tell my dad, "Yeah. I can't wait to make some new friends!" I give my dad a kiss and run out the door, getting into my car and head for hell, or as most people call it school.

As I pull up in front of NightsBane Academy I actually feel a little excitement my be this is where I will meet my mate. I forgot to mention I am a vampire. I get out of the car and ignore the cat calls from the jock and the haughty looks from popular girls. I head to the office and see a nice old lady. "Excuse me, I'm new here I was wondering if I could get my schedule?" She looks up from her computer. She smiles at me before replying, "Why of course. Your name's Katie Johnson?" I smile back at her and nod my head. 

"Yep, I've got you right here. Here you go now, run along we don't want you late for your first day of class." As I'm looking for my locker this girl comes up to me and says, "Hi, I'm Casey. You must be new here. What's your name?" She asks, her eyes lined with amusement. "I'm Katie." I reply. "Well, it's nice to meet you. You're looking a little lost there. Is there something I can help you with?"

"No, not really. I'm just looking for my locker." I sigh. She grabbed the paper out of my hand and looked at it. "Hey, we're in all the same classes!" She squealed. As we keep walking she goes up to a locker, "Here you are!" She smiles as we come to a stop in front on the locker.  "Thanks!" I say as I put my stuff in there and grab what I need for my first three classes.

As we are walking that way I see the most hot guy. He has long-ish blond hair, grass-green eyes. I feel a stirring in my body and as I look into his eyes something clicked. "Katie! Katie!"  I snap out of it and look at Casey. "Yeah?" I ask, a frown making its way onto my face. "Don't yeah me. I've been calling you for the past five minutes!" She snaps.

"I'm sorry." I say. "Come on, let's get to class." e get to class just before the bell rings. After the first half of classes are done we head to lunch. I sit with Casey and her friends: There's the twins, Jake and Josh, then you've got Andrea, Vanessa and Santana. Half way through lunch I learn that Andrea is dating josh and that they've been together for a year. As they are talking I look up and see the gorgeous boy from before, I tap on Casey's arm she looks at me.

"Who is that?" I a six pointing at him. She looks to where I'm pointing before replying,  "You must mean Damien Drake." When lunch is over I head to my next class, which is advanced training. I get there and coach tells us to pair up, I look for Casey but she is nowhere to be seen. All of the sudden someone comes up to me, I look up and notice who it is, Damien. "Hey," he says, "Do you want to pair up?" I freeze.

"Hey, I'm talking to you." he chuckles, a smirk making its way onto his face. "Yes or no?" He asks again. I come back down to earth. "Yeah, sure." After class I went home and my mom tells that we are going have guest for dinner. "Dress nice." She sternly commands. "Ok, well I'm going to go take a shower." I get to my room and lay down. The next thing I know I hear a knock on my door.

"Katie, are you ready? The guest are going to arrive any minute now!" I jump before replying, "Yeah mom, I'll be right down!" Crap! I tell myself. I haven't even taken a shower.  I hop in the shower scrub down. I then hop out and do my makeup and hair. I run to my closet and throw on a yellow summer dress and some sandals. Just as I get downstairs I hear the doorbell I go and answer my heart stops. Damien!
