Bethany's POV

It's been one week since I started homeschooling... and two since I last saw and spoke to Grayson, which was the day we went to the lake...

I have tried texting him, calling him. Not a lot so I don't seem desperate, but I haven't got a single response.

I became slightly depressed. In such a little time I got so attached to him.

"Hopeless..." I thought.

"Hey sweetie, I'm driving you to work today." My mom said walking into my room.

I looked up from my phone, "Yeah okay, thanks mom."

"Sweetie, whats wrong?" she said walking over and sitting down next to my bed.
I couldn't say anything.

She looked at my phone and saw what I was looking at. A candid picture of Grayson and I at the lake. I caught him smiling down at me while I was trying to take an actual selfie. "That is a really cute picture." She said taking my phone and looking closely. "Where has he been?"

"I don't know.." I sighed.

"Don't get too worked up over it. Boys will be boys. He isn't worth your sadness." She said rubbing my cheek.

But just last week she said she knows he will care for me... I was counting on that phrase everyone says 'mother knows best'.

"Thanks mom." I said giving her a fake smile.

"Well go on and get ready for work. I'll be in the car."

I got a job at a local book store slash coffee place. I organized books on my supposed break time, and made coffee on my actual working time. I loved the environment.

I was taking one last look in the mirror when I heard my phone ring.

I ran into my room and answered.

"Hello?!.. Oh, hi Chelsea..." I sighed. "No I am happy to hear from you whats up!... A party?... I dunno... Fine, fine, I'll be there."

I was so disappointed to hear Chelsea's voice.
I haven't talked to my friends in so long, so I thought going to the party would be good.

I heard my mom honking the horn and I ran outside.

"Sorry, Chelsea called me."

"It's okay sweetie, I thought you went back to sleep." She laughed.

"Wish I could sleep forever." I said under my breath.
