The model students with a great life ahead of him.

He was the valedictorian of the middle school graduation.

But high school was difficult. More difficult than he anticipated. His father was always hard on him. Sky did not have it easy growing up. His mother hadn't been bothered to play the role of his mother when he was born. Running away when Sky was only three years old, the young boy was left with his father.

Sky's father tries. He tries very hard to provide for his son. Maybe he tries too hard... which lead to the boy feeling neglected.

The boy wanted his father's attention. His father's love.

His father didn't seem to care when he was a valedictorian, he didn't seem to care when he got the best grades, he didn't care when he was the captain of the football team.

"How did I end up being a designated driver?" Sky sighed as he was driving his drunk friend back home.

His friend's girlfriend had just dumped him, and just like any other teenager, he did the most illegal thing he could think of. Getting wasted with fake ID's. Sky however wasn't a part of this plan until the very end.

Sky usually stayed off from anything that could even remotely get him into trouble. But it was two in the morning, and he couldn't leave his drunk friend alone in the streets.

So here he was, two thirty in the morning, driving his friend back home. "If you throw up on my dads car, I will leave you to fend for yourself." He threatened his friend as he kept an eye on him through the rearview mirror.

His friend simply waved him off as he continued to take a nap in the backseat.

There was a plan. A plan that would work.

Sky would bring his friend back to his house, as his father was always out of town. His friend would sleep it off and done. That's it.

Like it never happened.

But what he didn't expect was the cops to pull him over.

"Can we please have a look at your drivers licence?" they asked.

This is where Sky panicked. The boy who had never made a single mistake in his life was about to get caught. For two things.

1. For driving without a licence.

2. Bringing his drunk underaged friend home.

He could go in for being an accomplice.

His perfect record, his perfect name would be tarnished.

Everything he had worked so hard for all gone.

"I left it at home..." he sheepishly said.

The cop did not seem to buy his excuse, "What is your name? How old are you?"

He hated it when people around him paced.

It usually meant that they were disappointed in him. But he didn't need his father to pace around to show how disappointed he was about Sky.

Sky could see the way his face could showcased anger.

He hadn't seen his father this angry since his mother had ran from home.

"What were you thinking? Driving? Drinking?"

Sky looked down as he shook his head, his fingernails buried into his skin, marking his palms with tiny crescents, "I swear I wasn't drinking."

"Excuses? You're giving me excuses right now?"

Sky shook his head, as he closed his eyes, afraid the tears pooling in his eyes would fall, "I'm not trying to make excuses. I am not trying to justify my actions. But I need you to know I wasn't under the influence of alcohol. It is just the truth."

"Why were you outside so late? Is this what you do when I'm out of town?" his father shouted.

Sky flinched back as he dug deeper into his palm, "My friend was in trouble. I was just trying to help him."

"Great help you were. Look where it got you! You lost the football captainship. Now they have your name in the records! Great help." he spat.

Sky didn't know what to say. He couldn't leave his friend alone. He was intoxicated. He would never forgive himself if something bad happened to him.

Now he was in trouble.

"I'm so sorry." he whispered.

His father shook his head, "what is that going to do? Tell me! What is your stupid sorry going to do now? It is irrelevant. Worthless. Everything I did. All these years, you just blew it all up."

"I'll do anything for you to forgive me. Please. I'll do anything you want." The teenager begged his father.

which is exactly how sky thanapob ended up in homeschool.
