Only a universe away

Chapter 2

I open the door to my room and to my surprise I find Gwen sitting on my bed looking at my sketchbook.

"Gwen?!" (miles whispers) wait are you really here......am i dreaming? Did i die!"

(Gwen gets up and walks towards him.)

"Yes I'm really here and no you're not dead (she hands Miles his notebook) Your drawings are really good! And no I not just saying that just cause most of them are me"(she said with a slight smile on her face.)

(Miles looks at her with disbelief) "I thought I would never see you again."

"Well I'm here now" Gwen says while grabbing his hand.

"Wait what are you doing"

"grab your suit let's go out"

"Um idk if I should its getting late and i don't want my parents to worry(miles looks down at his feet then looks up) Gwen........ Where'd you go?"

(Miles runs over to his window and looks out of it "Gwen?"(he looks down and sees her)

"I'm right here spider-boy lets go."

(she shoots a web to the nearest building and swings away miles follows right after her)

"So how have you been the last couple of months..... "how's your dad"

"My dads fine I guess I haven't really been talking to him recently"

"Why's that?"

"Well um.......I guess I should probably tell you........I recently joined this society where there are all these amazing spider people, we help fight crime and-....(miles cuts her off)

"Wait, there's a society with all the spider people in it? Why wasn't I invited!

"Well um...... they don't know about you yet...I'll make sure to put in a good word for you."

"What do they mean they don't know about me yet... I'm miles Morales Brooklyn's one and only spiderman."(he says confidently)

"It's just....(she sighs) there is not that many slots"

(miles swings to the top of a building and Gwen follows"

"Hey let's just stay here and chill for a bit"miles says.

They both sit on the ledge of the building and look out at the night time sky.

"hey I gotta give it to you, I thought your new York was all just homeless people, smelly garbage and angry people who are always in a hurry but this is actually beautiful"

while Gwen is staring at the view miles take a peek at her. He notices that her hair is longer and pinker. He also notices her freckles and how there more visible when your really close to her as he starts to count how many she has Gwen quickly breaks her stare and quickly looks at miles.

"Hey" she says

"hey"(miles says nervously)

She turns her whole body to face him she sighs and looks at him with tears in her eyes

"Miles............in every other universe Gwen Stacy falls for spiderman.....(Miles meets her eyes and looks back at her) and in every other universe i doesn't end well.

(she turns her body away from him and looks at her feet)

"Well......there's always a first time for everything(he says while brushing her hair away from her face. Gwen looks at him and for the first time in a long time she felt like wasn't alone and that everything was gonna be alright.

Her watch beeps and she jumps up

"Oh shit i gotta go"

She quickly opens a portal and begins to walk over to it but stops and turns around and faces miles

she hands him a paper and says "see you later spiderman"

(Miles takes the paper and puts it in his pocket)

Gwen walks through the portal and leaves.

"Man i gotta get my rizz game up cause everytime i flirt with a girl she always leaves"miles says to himself

He then walks home and thinks about the next time he is gonna see Gwen again and if he'll ever see her again.
