Chapter 1: I don't want to die

Ryder and The Pups were in the forest doing a mission, Wood was being cut up into long pieces from Rocky with his pup pack he looked at Ryder who was helping Sky place the wood on top of each other, And Chase was on the lookout for wild animals or something. Marshall had a bad feeling about something, he watched and saw the wood starting to become under stable, it made Marshall glup with fear, "Alright Ryder I think this is all we need to do, due to it becoming under stable" Sky looked down at Ryder as Sky was hovering in the air with her pup pack. Ryder looked at the pieces of wood being stacked on top of each other seeing it was becoming under stable to, "Sounds good Sky, I think we should say we did a pretty good job on this mission, the wood won't crack or break causing a flood let's go home guys" Ryder would cross the river to the other side where his ASV was at, as he watched the other pups across the river to, the only two that haven't crossed yet was Rocky or Marshall, Rocky froze in fear as he stared down at the river of water, the water wasn't deep but it could still be dangerous, suddenly Rocky snapped out of his fear staring into the river cause him to snap out due to a voice being heard, it was Marshall's voice, "Rocky..it's okay I'm right behind you..I know your scared of water but we have to cross the river, I won't let anything happen to you alright? I'll be right behind you" Marshall put one his paws on Rocky's shoulder and he had a smile on his face trying to make him feel better. Rocky smiled back and nodded to Marshall "heh thanks Marshall that made me feel better..I can do this.." Rocky took a deep breath before he put his paws in the water and started to walk across slowly, Rocky was shaking a little bit, his breathing being heavily, Marshall was right behind Rocky "see Rocky? We're almost there you did it-" the sound of wood cracking and breaking was heard which caused Marshall to gasp in fear and rocky freezing in fear not moving at all, only staring at the wood slowly cracking and breaking. "ROCKY GO GO!!" Marshall started to push Rocky with his paws trying to get him to move, Suddenly the wood broke, huge rush of water came towards the two pups, "I'm sorry rocky" Marshall mumbled before he shoved Rocky which sent Rocky flying to the other side to where Ryder and pups were at, Marshall looked at Ryder and the pup with a smile on his face with tears in his eyes, "I'm sorry Ryder.." "MARSHALL NO!" Ryder ran towards Marshall trying to grab him but chase would Jump in front of Ryder and reach his paw out to Marshall so he could grab it, Marshall started to reach out to Chase's paw to, "MARSHALL LOOK OUT!!" Rocky yelled, Marshall turned around to see a big gush of water with the broken Wood logs coming towards Marshall, BAM! Marshall was hit with the gush of water with the wood logs hitting his face so hard it made the fire pup nose bleed, "GAH! HELP!" The river started to pull Marshall, he was getting farther away from Ryder and the pups, he struggled to breathe and fight against the river to swim, but the water was to strong, Marshall was pulled under the water again, the water got stronger and stronger, Marshall's lungs started to fill with water, tears and fear in his eyes, "Sky I need to you fly after Marshall and see where the river is going! Try to grab him if you can" "ON IT!" Sky took off at full spread with her pup pack, Ryder looked at the other pups and told them to use anything they could to save Marshall, they started to run after Marshall seeing that the water of the river was getting stronger and stronger, Marshall was still struggling to breathe, he kept gasping for air, his lungs started to hurt more and more, he was getting weaker the more he fought for his life, Marshall's head popped up from the water and saw Sky, "SAVE ME PLEASE!" He yelled before the water took him under and he was slammed into rocks and big rocks to, Sky gasp as she saw Marshall struggling before she flew down to Marshall, she tried to grab him but the water was way to strong, she almost got caught in the water in the process of saving Marshall, "S-Sky.." Marshall tried reaching out to grab Sky, he was pulled underwater by a strong pull from the water of the river, Marshall's body got weaker and weaker, his vision blurred, as he turned around to see a big rock, his body was slammed against the rock, his head would hit the rock to, it would leave Marshall unconscious underwater, the sound of a waterfall was heard close, Sky gasped as she went full speed ahead of Marshall to see the huge waterfall he was heading straight to, Sky touched her pup tag as it glowed pink "CHASE I NEED YOU TO USE YOUR NET TO CATCH MARSHALL! HE'S HEADING STRAIGHT TO A WATERFALL!! HURRY CHASE!!" Chase froze when he heard this as pup tag glowed dark blue, so many thoughts were running through his head he was snapped out of his thoughts from Rocky yelling at him to hurry up. "..I-I'm on it.." Chase took off running at full spread to finally he stopped to see where Sky was and where the waterfall was at, He gasped to see how big the waterfall was and the drop of the waterfall to, Chase got his net ready he looked up at Sky who was still in the sky hovering with her pup pack that had wings, "where's Marshall..?" Chase sounded scared he didn't want to lose his best friend after so many years, Sky looked down at Chase then back at the river, "..I..don't know he went under and hasn't come back up.." Chase whimpered when he heard this, he stared at the river hoping Marshall would pop up, suddenly Marshall would pop up he was unconscious, blood was running down his nose, and having bruises on his body from hitting the rocks, both Sky and Chase gasped at the sighing see how Marshall looked, he was heading straight to the waterfall "CHASE NOW!" Sky yelled, Chase barked, "Arf! Net!" A net would shoot out of Chase's pup pack and it shot towards Marshall, Marshall starting to fall from the drop from the waterfall, The Net would miss Marshall it went under "NOO!!" Sky yelled as she saw Marshall fall, this wasn't a small fall this was a huge fall from a big waterfall, Both Sky and Chase watched in fear as they watched their best friend fall to his death, Marshall was falling he was still unconscious, finally Marshall was nowhere to be seen, Chase was breathing heavily, so many thoughts were running through his head, same thing goes for Sky, she wanted to break down in tears but she was in to much of a shock to see what just happened..seeing her best friend fall to his death left of them shocked and speechless. Rdyer and the other pups finally caught up to the two to see no sign of Marshall, "Sky..? Chase..? Where's Marshall..?" Rocky's ears were down when he asked this question, Chase gave no response to Rocky's question, he stayed quiet and looked down at the ground, "C-Chase..?" "He's gone rocky...Marshall is gone...we couldn't save him...i-im sorry.." Sky's voice broke when she said this, tears in her big pink eyes, Rocky and the other pups went into shock..even Ryder, "No..no..he can't be dead...H-he's marshall...there's no way..-" Rocky didn't want to believe it, none of them did.. But they had to accept that Marshall was gone right in front of them.

Marshall's Pov

"All I remember is saving Rocky from the water..Then..getting pulled under the water..I..Everything else is a blur..I could hear my friends yelling my name but I couldn't wake up..my lungs hurt to breathe..the water..the rocks..the bruises on my body..I want to go home..I don't want to die..I want to be with my family..CAN ANYBODY HEAR ME?!" Marshall yelled hoping somebody would hear him, All he could see was pure black it's like he was in a coma and he was talking inside his head, Marshall screamed again he was screaming out his lungs, he was scared, alone, he didn't want to die alone, he wanted to be back at the lookout tower..with his family..and his friends Marshall had so many things going though his head, it was a rollercoaster of emotions so much had happen to him and such little time. Suddenly Marshall smelled blood..and it was fresh blood too, it jerked him awake, Marshall let out a gasp as he breathed heavily, he looked around and saw that he was alone in the dark, it was night time, he was in the forest by himself all alone.. Then he saw the blood dripping from his nose, and saw the bruises all over his body. Marshall would go to stand up as he grunted from the pain, then he thought to himself again, "How long have I been laying here..? How long have I been in a coma..? W-what if my friends forgot about me...they given up on me..that's-" Marshall froze as he remembered that he's been given up on a few times...it's why he ran away twice, Tears started to foam in Marshall's eyes as he started to cry making sad whimper sounds, he looked at his pup tag, to see that it was broken from all the water "d-darn it..my pup tag doesn't work.." Marshall whipped away the tears in his eyes as they were going down his cheeks. Suddenly a sound was heard and it was near Marshall. Marshall jumped in fear and turned around quickly and looked around, "Who's there!? SHOW YOURSELF! I'M NOT SCARED OF YOU! I'M A PAW PATROL AND I HAVE FRIENDS WHO WILL SAVE ME!" Marshall lashed out as he growled, looking for whoever made that sound, the sound of someone walking was heard, it made Marshall's ears perked up, He turned around to see a dark figure standing right behind him, the figure was tall with pure glowing white eyes, it sent fear into Marshall, He's never seen anything like this before..not even in Adventure Bay..Marshall growled and showed his teeth before he jumped at the figure to bite him to only be knocked out by being hit in the head by something leaving Marshall passed out again, everything was black again..just like the first time..Marshall was able to talk again..but in his head, "No...not again..SOMEONE HELP ME!!" He yelled as loud as he could, no one would hear him, the dark figure picked up Marshall and walked off.
