Gossip girl had posted a google doc. The doc had every tip ever sent in to GG and exactly who sent it. Gossip Girl hasn't posted anything in days as a result. Friends were becoming frenemies and Gossip Girl was seemingly destroyed because of it."Wait you sent in a tip saying I bought a suit at goodwill?!" River shouted at Honey. "To be fair I was really mad at you! What about that tip you sent in about my "weave" which was a lie by the way!" Honey shouted back. "I was mad!" River cringed. Ally rubbed her head in an attempt to naturally get rid of the terrible headache she currently had.
"Come on you guys let's chill out. My mom is coming back for new years and we're throwing our annual New Year's party, let's calm down and forget about this. Everyone sent in tips! Gossip girl was like a drug!" Honey and River seemed to calm down. "It's new years okay! Max is coming it's gonna be great" Ally managed to diffuse the situation for the time being.
The trio was wearing ugly New Years sweaters. A tradition that had stopped when Ally moved away, but this year they decided to continue the tradition. It was their funny take on ugly Christmas sweaters. Claire entered the study with a smile on her face. "What do you guys think" she smiled as she twirled for the trio to see every aspect of her dress for the Crimsons annual New Years Party. It looked more like a tuxedo jacket in the form of a dress, but it looked absolutely gorgeous. It was a velvet blue dress that Claire had intelligently paired with a pair of black stiletto boots that reached her mid thigh.
"You look hot, as always." River smirked. Ally playfully slapped his shoulder. "It's beautiful" Ally told her aunt. Honey nodded in agreement. "How many hours till the party?" Honey asked. Claire checked her watch and did a double take to make sure she was correct "about and hour and thirty minutes but people tend to arrive an hour early." Honey gasped and her mouth dropped open. "Oh shit" the trio shouted in unison. They bolted out of the room and scrambled towards Ally's bedroom to get dressed for the occasion. Time seemed to slip by so fast.
Ally scrambled towards her vanity to apply her makeup, River began ironing his suit, and Honey was screaming about bringing the wrong lip gloss. The trio was rushing to get ready for the New Year's party and the stress was overwhelming. Once Ally finished applying her makeup, which was light considering the occasion she ran towards her closet and reached for the blue sequined dress she had gotten months earlier for this specific party.
River had finally finished ironing his suit and offered to zip Ally's dress for her. Honey had given up on her eye liner after screwing it up multiple times and was now looking for her a pair of shoes in Ally's closet.
The trio could hear people arriving for the party already and classical music echoed throughout the house. Honey began rambling due to her anxiety and River attempted to calm her down. Honey hated being "late" even though the people that were already at the party were technically early, Honey didn't exactly feel that way.
Honey managed to find a pair of shoes that went with her dress and slid them on. The trio fixed their outfits and ran their hands through their hair making sure their appearances were perfect. Ally was especially concerned about her appearance. Many people now disliked her family because of gossip girls post about Robbie, and Ally was determined to restore her and her families reputation. Her best bet at restoring their reputations would be the Crimsons annual New Year's party.
________
Max had messaged Ally letting her know that it was possible he wouldn't make it to her party. He had gotten caught up in traffic on his way down from Hudson and said he'd probably just turn back if it didn't clear up. Ally was quite disappointed by this and attempted to his her frown by taking a number of sips from her glass of water. Ally was still staying away from alcohol as she didn't trust herself quite yet.
The Crimson townhouse was packed at this point. It was mostly adults. Clients of Henry's. A number of people were crowded around Vera asking where she had been and Vera was entirely honest with everyone. She held a glass of sparkling cider in her hand and In Ally's eyes rehab seemed to be going well for her mother. Many people were gossiping about Vera's trip to rehab but she didn't seem to mind as she conversed with long time friends of hers and welcomed more people into the party.
Ally walked towards an empty couch hidden in the corner of the living room. She sent another message to Max asking how he was doing. Her previous messages were left on delivered and Ally couldn't help but be slightly annoyed at that. River slugged over to Ally. He had lipstick marks on his cheeks and his eyes were wide as he fell back onto the couch.
"God what happened to you?" Ally laughed. "All the old ladies insisting on kissing me on the cheek. I had to let them indulge of course" He snickered. Ally chuckled at the statement. "Are you doing okay?" River asked. Ally could tell that River was genuinely concerned and she frowned. "Ya know, sometimes it feels like Max cares more about his friends than me. He'll just immediately leave me when his friends need something or he just won't show up to something because he has something to do with his friends." Ally sighed.
River rubbed his forehead in thought. "Max has never been in a relationship if I'm correct. He's probably not used to having someone rely on him in a romantic way, and consistently. Talk to him about it. The first chance you get you need to talk to him about it because the issue can't be fixed if you just bottle it up. Communication is key in a relationship." River advised. Ally nodded "Then let me give you the same advice River, it's obvious that you have feelings on some level for Zoya. Tell her. To be honest I think she likes you too. The flirtatious bickering and pining needs to stop confess to her" River smiled and nodded. He grabbed his phone and walked away from Ally presumably to find someplace quite.
Ally grabbed her phone from her small purse and instantly found Max's contact. She exited the living room and went straight for the thankfully unoccupied bathroom. She clicked the call button waited for Max to pick up. Once he did she told him exactly how she was feeling. Max was surprisingly understanding.
"Listen Ally, sometimes I need my space. I like to be alone and think. But I can admit that I've been neglecting this relationship. Putting things off so I can spend time with my friends who don't really care all that much about me. I've never been in a relationship. This is all new. I'm still navigating this and trying to learn and figure this out. But I'm willing to learn with you." Max explained. "Thank you. I'm sorry I've been a little clingy. I really am willing to learn with you. I want this work." Ally replied. Max and Ally said their goodbyes and Ally walked out of the bathroom with a smile on her face.
She walked down the seemingly never ending hallway and ran smack dab into Claire. "I've been looking everywhere for you! Your father just got a call. Your brother woke up!" Claire shouted. "Wait did you say he woke up?" Ally asked. Claire nodded. The room began to spin and Claire dragged her down the hallway towards the front door. The room was endlessly spinning and at felt like everyone's eyes were on her. She felt nauseous. The house was silent as Claire dragged her through it.
The cold New York air let Ally know that she was now outside. Goosebumps littered her skin and she shuddered. "There's no way he's awake. It's been years" Ally thought. Claire shoved Ally into an Uber. She saw her parents were also in the car and she heaved a sigh of relief. She felt her phone buzz. A notification. She ignored it.
Her vision was becoming normal again and she noticed her mother was sobbing. Her fathers arms were around her and Henry was attempting to reassure his wife. Claire was looking out the window, clearly deep on thought.
The car ride seemed endless but finally they made it to the hospital. The Crimsons scrambled out of the car and into the hospital. Vera shoved people out of the way and Ally apologized to them on her mothers behalf. The ran into the elevator and Henry clicked the button about fifty times until the doors finally closed and led them to Robbie's floor. They rushed out of the elevator and ran towards Robbie's room despite the protests of numerous nurses.
Henry slammed the door open and the Crimsons were met with a wide eyed Robbie. Ally reached for her phone, hoping to capture the moment with a picture of some sort but she clicked her phone off the second she saw the notification
gossipgirl shared a post
Ally shoved her phone back into her purse and the Crimsons trudged towards the wide eyed Robbie. "Gossip girl won't ruin this moment" Ally thought to herself.
