( a/n: Shout out to my first comment, by Brandon Naquin! Im actually friends with him, but I still want to say thank you for the support, it means a lot.)

"Report to the meal room for your morning sustenance."

Lu snapped awake. Her head was laying on Myrtle's chest, while she had an arm wrapped around his shoulders. Both of his arms were tight and heavy on her back as she looked up at him in surprise.

Myrtle stared blankly at the ceiling, not reacting to her movements. Despite that, Lu flung herself away from him, embarrassed with a bright red face.

He just sighed and sat up. Lu made an awkward face. "Sorry.".

" What's the point in eating? What's the point in even living?" Myrtle gave her a sad look. " I'm going to die anyways, so why not now?"

She just stared at him, dumbfounded by the words that just came out of his mouth. Lu glared at him. She has never been the best at comforting people, but she really needed to try. She didn't want Myrtle to kill himself. " Myrtle." Lu gently placed a hand on his leg. "Please don't die. You're my only friend here."

Myrtle stared at her. " You're a pretty girl, you'll get friends in no time."

Lu blushed a little. He thought she was pretty? Then she refocused. " Myrtle. Don't kill yourself. Stay alive." She took a deep breath. What she was about to say might make him call a guard on her, but she couldn't think of anything else. She leaned so close to his ear that she could feel his warm breath on her neck. Her lips were practically touching his ears to the point that if either of them moved an inch, they would touch." I'm trying to say that I need you. We can escape together."

Lu leaned away, but only a little. Their faces were still only about two inches away as she waited for his reply.
"Huh? How?" Myrtle asked.

Lu shrugged." I don't know. But we will." She pressed her forehead against his. She gave him a serious look.

Myrtle grabbed her arms gently. " Okay." He stared into her eyes. Lu gazed back.

What's happening? Lu thought as her heart fluttered. Am I in..? Her eyes widened. No. She couldn't love him. She barely knew him. And yet...why did she get butterflies in her stomach as she stared into his pink eyes.

Myrtle leaned in ever so slightly. Lu quickly pulled herself away. Was he about to kiss her?! She turned bright red. Surely not.

He made a thinking face. Lu decided that they weren't going to breakfast. They were probably too late anyway. So she spent the time scurrying around the room, poking all the nooks and crannies. She didn't really know exactly what she was looking for, but she looked anyway.

She found a closet that on one side had about five identical outfits to the one she was wearing. On the other side we're some extremely grey and boring school uniforms. Lu looked at Myrtle. " What are these?"

He jumped out of the bed. " Oh! Those are our uniforms! And it's almost time for school!" He gave her one of the uniforms that had a skirt instead of pants.

Lu stared at it. " Where do I change?"

Myrtle pointed to the closet. " In there. There's no light, but still. Better than out here, where anyone can see you."

Lu nodded and then closed herself in the dark closet with only enough light coming in so that she could see the outline of her socks. She changed as speedily as she could, frequently hitting her elbow on the door or her head on the wall.

She inhaled and walked out. " So? How'd I do?" Lu smiled

He turned his head and said " What do you mean?"
