"Boom, did a bomb just go off in my head? No, it's the Devils!" The cheerleading team was standing in the front hallway, waving their pom pom around s as they were in the process of trying to recruit new girls.
At the beginning of every school year, they always did tryouts to recruit new members. This was to fill vacant spots that were once held by senior girls, who had previously graduated.
"When we beat you black and red. Call a nurse, call a doctor, call your mama too because you're gonna need help, when we are finished with you!" This cheer instantly attracted the attention of Erica Jones, who had just walked by their display.
"Go, Devils!" The cheerleaders shook their pom poms in the air one last time.
"Again, girls." Head cheerleader and mean girl, Stephanie, ordered the team. They were already exhausted but quickly complied to her demand.
"Erica, please, tell me you're not doing what I think you're doing." Sarah spoke up, watching her best friend eye up the sign up sheet.
"What? It's just cheerleading." Erica shrugged. "I thought you said you wanted us to be normal."
"Cheerleaders are not normal. They're more evil than us and we're vampires." Sarah argued.
"Yeah, especially Stephanie." Luna glared at the head cheerleader.
"Sarah, Luna, you know I've always wanted to be a cheerleader and now that I'm really hot, I can." Erica defended. "Besides, these girls have been telling me to bite them for years." She flashed her fangs.
"Yeah, I don't think that's what they had in mind." Sarah reminded.
"Oh, come on. Who's gonna miss just one?" Erica practically begged.
"I will." Benny exclaimed with pleading eyes.
"Isn't this kind of like letting Magneto join the X-Men?" Ethan pointed out but used a reference that only he and his best friend could understand.
"I'll assume that's geek-speak for a 'fox in the henhouse' thing." Sarah pondered.
"I'm gonna assume that's a yes." Luna confirmed by the lack of response from the two boys.
"If you have any ideas on how Luna and I are supposed to stop her then we're all ears." Sarah asked, causing both boys to gesture behind them.
The two girls turned around and realized they were alluding to the idea that they also try out for the cheerleading team. "Go, Devils!"
