[A/n POV] 9 year old Ayuki Saito didn't understand why her parents and her family were always saying that her power is a blessing from the God. Because that's not how she saw her power.
For her it was a curse, a pain that she wanted to get away from. She never had any positive and encouraging words to say regarding her power like the rest of her family.
She didn't know why they all felt like it was amazing to see how a person's future will be. Because to Ayuki it was a nightmare. Seeing someone crying in the future or getting arrested or suffering till the end was not something Ayuki would call a blessing. Sure there are people who will get everything in their lives in their near future but those cases were rare.
Yes, she was a seer. And on top of that the generations before her were powerful seers as well. And the last one before her was her grandmother.
She would always hear her grandmother say things like
"You have a blessing as a power my dear."
"You hate it now but someday you will feel very proud of your power."
"Have faith in your power Ayu, it's nature mother's wish for you to have this blessing."
She couldn't understand how her grandmother could request to her to have faith in her power. She couldn't. She would never. The power of seer was very simple one.
She could see people's future but what she couldn't do was to change them. Not all people had a sad future but some had it very extreme and whenever she tried to change it a little bit also, the outcomes were never good.
She tried many times but the consequences would still come out to be negative. So she stopped trying. She stopped helping. And would only gaze at the person with a blank look on her face.
Just like now where she's staring at her father's dark grey orbs, Izuma Saito. The grey orbs that are showing how very soon she will lost her father in a car accident.
As her father went away from the living room after giving a soft pat on the little girl's head, Ayuki couldn't help but take a few deep breaths to calm her down. She couldn't cry right now. She knew her power doesn't allow her to change someone's future but it was her hero, her bestfriend, her father who was going to die.
She couldn't let that happen. She couldn't let faith snatch away her father from her, and so she tried. Ayuki's mother, Yuri Saito, had gone to her grandmother's house as the old lady was suffering from a illness from a few weeks now.
And today Ayuki and Izuma were going to bring Yuri back as now Ayuki's grandmother has become healthy. She knew she couldn't let her father go near the car and so tried. She came up with many different excuses so that Izuma would cancel the plan of going. But nothing was helping. It was as if the Gods were against her in this battle.
